Mavericks’ Betting Outlook

Dallas sits just above .500 at 9-8, but most of their success has come at home. In fact, eight of their wins have occurred at American Airlines Center. They’re just 1-8 in the previous nine road contests, too. Not a great sign ahead of Saturday, especially since Toronto thrives in the Six.

Wednesday’s defeat to Boston was by no means a bad performance from the Mavs, who had several positive takeaways. Luka continued his MVP-like campaign, erupting for 42 points, nine assists, and eight rebounds. Christian Wood also had 26 points and 12 boards off the bench. But, overall, there just wasn’t enough contributions from the entire rotation to beat a team like the Celtics, who are so well-rounded.

Dallas allowed the C’s to shoot 50% from deep and their entire starting five finished in double-figures. Turnovers proved to be costly too, coughing it up 14 times. That resulted in 21 points for Jayson Tatum and Co. Against a top-notch squad like Boston, it killed the Mavericks. Jason Kidd’s group has a clean bill of health for this Raps game.

Raptors’ Betting Outlook

Toronto is dealing with serious health issues early on and it’s frankly miraculous they’re even at 9-9. Fred VanVleet hasn’t played since last Saturday due to an illness and he’s questionable here. Pascal Siakam, Otto Porter, Scottie Barnes, and Precious Achiuwa remain out. That leaves the rotation rather thin Saturday.

The absence of all of these players was felt Wednesday. Although there were six different scorers who posted a minimum of 10 points, no one really stepped up and took charge. Gary Trent’s 19 points was a team-high. The Raptors shot just 24% from deep and 36% from the field, which certainly didn’t help.

This Mavs matchup will be tough. Playing at home always makes Toronto more confident, therefore you can’t count them out to end the two-game losing skid. Shooting the ball at a much more efficient clip is going to help and that comes down to better ball movement. They dished out only 16 dimes versus Brooklyn. Not good enough. Share the rock.

Mavericks vs Raptors Prediction

Between the Mavs’ recent success against Toronto and just how shorthanded the Raptors are, this is a no-brainer pick.

Pick: Mavericks -2.5 (-110)
