The Brooklyn Nets will be looking to continue their impressive run when they face the Indiana Pacers on Thursday, April 29th, tip-off at 7pm ET.

The Nets are fresh off a convincing 116-103 victory over the Toronto Raptors on Tuesday, while Indy saw their three-game winning streak end at the hands of Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers.

These two Eastern Conferences foes met in mid-March, with Brooklyn securing a 124-115 win. In fact, they’re unbeaten in their last three meetings with the Pacers.

Nets Coming Off Efficient Win

Without James Harden for the time being, the offense has been strictly on Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant’s shoulders. They’ve had absolutely no problem carrying this team, but Tuesday’s win over Toronto was a clear example of the depth that Brooklyn possesses when their stars have cold nights.

Kyrie had just nine points, while KD dropped 17. However, seven players throughout the rotation put up 10 or more points. 34-year-old vet Jeff Green led the squad with 22, while Blake Griffin, Joe Harris, and Landry Shamet all contributed brilliantly on the offensive end. It was also a tremendous shooting night for the Nets, going a perfect 18-for-18 from the charity stripe while also sinking 40% of their attempts from downtown.

Another player who impressed on Tuesday was Mike James. The former Euroleague standout was signed to a 10-day contract by Brooklyn last week and has added some much-needed depth in the backcourt. He had 11 points in just 21 minutes of work and scored all of them in the final period.

The Nets actually trailed for most of the contest, but a 16-2 run in the fourth quarter allowed them to get back in it and ultimately walk away with the victory. In doing so, Steve Nash’s squad became the first club in the East to clinch a playoff spot.

Pacers Need Sabonis Back

Domantas Sabonis has missed the last five games for Indiana with a back injury and although they’ve gone 3-2 in his absence, the team desperately needs the Lithuanian’s presence inside.

Without Sabonis on Tuesday, the Pacers were 133-112 losers against Portland in a game where they were dominated on the glass. The Blazers outrebounded Indy 57-38 while also grabbing 20 offensive boards to just seven for Nate Bjorkgren’s team. With Myles Turner sidelined as well, the Pacers really lack an impact player in the paint right now.

The real dagger for Indiana was a 57% shooting night from beyond the arc for their opponents. Lillard and co. collected 60 points via the three-pointer. However, despite the loss, Indiana is still just a game behind the Hornets for eighth spot in the Eastern Conference.

Their struggles continue at Bankers Life Fieldhouse though, compiling a poor 11-18 record on home court. They will be looking to backcourt duo Caris LeVert and Malcolm Brogdon to get it going offensively vs Brooklyn. This will also be LeVert’s first game against his old team after being traded in January.

Trends to Keep an Eye on

The Nets are 25-7 at home but on the road, just 17-13. As ATS favorites, the East leaders haven’t lived up to the hype either, going 20-26. However, three straight ATS wins is a positive sign that Brooklyn can pull off yet another one.

Indiana has been even worse against the spread at home, posting an 8-21 record. As underdogs, the team is under .500 as well.

It’s not too often you see Durant and Irving not put up at least 20+ points in a game. I fully expect both of them to bounce back with banner nights on Thursday and lead their team to another win.

The Pacers have a glaring hole on the glass right now but the Nets aren’t exactly the greatest rebounding team, either. Nevertheless, there isn’t much value ATS for the hosts considering their dreadful record.

Although Brooklyn has only hit the over once in their last three games, there shouldn’t be any issue exposing an Indy defense, who just allowed 133 points. The Nets are nothing to write home about defensively as well, therefore, the over is a good bet.
