  • Read below for Saturday’s NBA player props and best bets

The Denver Nuggets and New York Knicks start off Saturday’s NBA schedule in what is a packed day of action.

Playing at Madison Square Garden, the reigning MVP and the depleted Nuggets are slight underdogs. They are followed by a matchup at the top of the Eastern Conference between the Bulls and Nets, while playoff foes Miami and Milwaukee face-off at Fiserv Forum.

Golden State takes on a young San Antonio team in San Francisco, a matchup which the Dubs are comprehensively favored in. Off the back of an historic win over the Thunder, Memphis faces Dallas.

Boston and Portland, two teams at the center of much speculation, match up in Oregon.  There’s a Pacific Division clash in north California as the Kings host the Clippers.

Vucevic 3-Pointers Made

Nikola Vucevic had a slow start to his first full season in Chicago. Then he got COVID-19.

The former Magic big man has been reinvigorated of late, however, putting up his two best nights of the season across the last two games. Combining for 57 points in wins over Charlotte and New York, Vucevic has found his role in the offense, and has been draining threes from pick-and-pop situations.

He’s 11-for-15 from beyond the arc over those two games. Even before this hot streak, Vooch had been getting up plenty of shots from deep. Myles Turner is the only center averaging more than Vucevic’s 4.5 three-point attempts per contest. His shooting is vital to the Bulls’ spacing, and he’s likely to get plenty of good looks from downtown against a Nets team which allows 36.7 shots from beyond the arc per game.

LaMarcus Aldridge has provided Brooklyn with some firepower on offense, but he’s a complete non-factor on defense. Aldridge has been left to get cooked on switches at times or he’s in drop coverage, which will leave Vucevic open for threes as he was against Mitchell Robinson and the Knicks.

Naz Reid got up six threes and made three of them against Brooklyn on Friday. Vucevic can surely at least match that line with how he’s shot the ball lately.

  • Pick: Nikola Vucevic over 1.5 threes (+104)

Jaren Jackson Jr Points & Rebounds

It’s been a waiting game with Jaren Jackson Jr. Injuries and inconsistency have raised questions about his ceiling.

He’s finally putting it all together, though, and has starred on Memphis three-game winning streak without Ja Morant.

Jackson scored 27 in 20 minutes as the Grizz recorded the biggest win in NBA history over the Thunder. He was a +42, too. This followed a 25-point, six-rebound, five-block performance in the win over the Raptors. He’s drained 10 of his last 17 threes.

As we would expect with the supposed second star, Jackson’s usage soars in non-Morant minutes. At 24.5% when Morant is on the court, Jackson’s usage is up at 31.3% when he’s on the floor without the future All-Star. Kevin Durant and Nikola Jokic have a 31.3% usage rate for the season.

Rebounding has long been a weakness for Jackson, but there are signs of improvement. Despite spending a lot of his minutes alongside Steven Adams, he has maintained a rebound rate of 18% from a small sample last season. He’s grabbing 7.6 boards per 36, a massive increase from his first two seasons. There should be plenty of opportunity on the glass against a Dallas team which ranks 25th in offensive rebounding rate.

The 23.5 line on points and rebounds just looks low. Jackson has gone past this in the three games without Morant, and in six of his last nine games. He’s gone over this in points in his last two, and even if the shots aren’t falling as they have in those games, he’s rebounding enough to reach 24.

  • Pick: Jaren Jackson Jr over 23.5 points and rebounds (-120)
