Stanford Cardinal Betting Analysis

Jaiden Delaire was the hero versus the Ducks, pouring in a team-high 20 points including the game winner. Michael O’Connell added a season-high 15 points, as Stanford snapped a three-game losing streak versus Oregon.

The Cardinal shot 44% from the field, and 33.3% from three, which is almost exactly in line with their season averages. They finished plus-6 in both the rebounding and assist department, but sloppy play kept this game close. Stanford committed 17 turnovers, and nearly blew a 14-point second half lead.

Defensively, they held the Ducks to 41.1% from the field, and 35% from three, while forcing 12 turnovers. Defense has not been their strong suit this season, as they rank 188th in opponent points per game, and 291st in opponent effective field goal percentage. They’re 247th in turnovers forced, and 228th at defending the three point line.

They’re a much stronger offensive team per the numbers, averaging over 70 points per outing, while boasting a 50.8% effective field goal percentage, and ranking inside the top-90 in both total rebounding and assists. They’re especially strong on the offensive glass, ranking 15th in the nation in offensive rebounding percentage.

Dartmouth Big Green Betting Analysis

Dartmouth meanwhile, enters play on a four-game losing streak. Last time out, they fell 65-62 to Boston University, their third straight defeat to an opponent ranked outside the top-145.

The Big Green were led offensively by Aaryn Rai’s 17 points, while Brendan Barry added 13. They shot 43.4% from the field, and 37.5% from three, but pulled down only 10 offensive boards giving themselves few second chance opportunities.

Defensively, they allowed the Terriers to knock down 47.2% of their attempts, including 44.4% of their triples. For the season, they rank 197th in scoring defense, and have been especially vulnerable versus competent teams. They’ve faced three top-200 programs so far, and are yielding an average of 75.3 points per game in those outings.

Offensively, the numbers are even worse. They’re ranked outside the top-230 in points per game, effective field goal percentage, assists, and total rebounds.

Dartmouth vs Stanford Pick

The suspect Big Green defense has led to the over being a popular selection in Dartmouth games. Each of their past four contests have cleared the total, and we should expect them to struggle against this Cardinal offense.

Stanford is on a nice run of overs as well. Each of their past three contests have cleared the total, going over by an average of 13.6 points.

The Cardinal have been very efficient on their home court this season, posting a 5-0 record, with an average margin of victory of 11.4.

Picks: Over 131 (-110)
