DeJon Jarreau Is a Savage
One story that has taken hold of this tournament is that of DeJon Jarreau. Roughly 40 seconds into the Houston Cougars’ first-round game against Cleveland State, he exited with a hip injury and didn’t return. There were questions as to whether he would be able to play two days later against Rutgers. Not only did he play, he dropped 17 points while adding five rebounds.
One thing is for sure, DeJon Jarreau is a savage.

Jarreau is the kind of player who can contribute in multiple categories as he is a gamer. The number that looks a little off for him in the Cougars’ next game with Oregon State is his assists total.
On the season, Jarreau averaged 4.3 assists per game and is coming off of an eight-assist performance. Oregon State is coming off of a game where 77.8% of their opponents’ field goals were assisted. Jarreau looked like more of a facilitator against Syracuse and, if that’s the case against the Beavers, he should fly over his assists total.
The Pick: DeJon Jarreau Over 3.5 Assists (-113)
Davonte Davis Is Firing Away
The Arkansas Razorbacks are one game away from the Final Four. While it has a lot to do with the play of Moses Moody and Justin Smith, other guys have stepped up in this tournament. One player jumping off the screen is Davonte Davis who had ice water in his veins when he sunk the game winner Saturday night over Oral Roberts.

Davis only averaged 8.3 points per game in the regular season but that could be because he only played 23.6 minutes per game. So far in this tournament, he hasn’t played fewer than 32 minutes in any game and hasn’t taken fewer than 11 shots in any of those games. As a result, he has scored at least twelve points in every game.
Tonight, his point total is posted at 10.5 for the second straight game. Given the high-percentage shots he takes and the fact that Baylor will be hellbent on stopping Moses Moody, Davis looks to be in line to go over this total.
The Pick: Davonte Davis Over 10.5 Points (-113)
