The 2022 College Football season has finally arrived, with 11 games on tap for Week 0 on Saturday, August 27. Among the most anticipated matchups is a Big Ten clash between Nebraska and Northwestern in Dublin, Ireland.
There are several different ways to bet on college football Week 0, but one of the more fun methods is parlay betting. This is a type of bet that combines multiple wagers into one bet in order to increase the potential payout.
Teasers, meanwhile, are a type of parlay bet in which the bettor can change the point spread to make the bet easier to win. While the sportsbook will lower the payout on these wagers, bettors can do multiple team teasers to get better odds.
Let’s take a look at some college football parlays and teasers that are worth wagering on in Week 0.
College Football Week 0 Parlays
Week 0 is loaded with lopsided favorites, meaning parlay betting might be one of your best options to secure a decent payout. Nebraska vs Northwestern is the headliner, but a $10 wager on the Cornhuskers moneyline (-380) would only payout $12.63 if it cashes.
Instead of betting Nebraska straight up on the moneyline, you’re betting off grouping them with a couple of other favorites in a college football parlay. Florida Atlantic (-280) and Vanderbilt (-330) are also appealing favorites in the same price range as Nebraska.
It’s very important for teams playing in Week 0 to get off to a strong start. All three teams listed in this parlay are coming off disappointing seasons in which they finished under their win totals. Nebraska, in particular, only won three games all season despite several close finishes.
While Nebraska is out to prove they are better than their 2021 record indicates, Florida Atlantic and Vanderbilt are also seeking redemption. Instead of suffering heartbreaking losses like the Huskers, the Owls and Commodores were on the receiving end of some brutal blowouts.
Both FAU and Vanderbilt are returning over 60% of their production from last season, however, which is leading bettors to believe both teams will improve on their record in 2022. The spread has moved a few points in both teams’ direction ahead of Week 0 kickoff, indicating some sharp action.
Grouping Nebraska, Florida Atlantic and Vanderbilt into a moneyline parlay reduces the juice to +123 at DraftKings. A $10 wager would payout $22.83 if all three teams win, whereas a larger $100 wager would payout $223.00 if the bet cashes.
- Parlay Bet: Nebraska, Florida Atlantic and Vanderbilt (+123)
College Football Week 0 Teasers
While a college football parlay increases the potential payout, a teaser bet reduces the payout while increasing the likelihood of winning. Teasers are centered around the point spread of the game and the exact number of points a team is expected to win by.
Taking a look at the Week 0 college football odds, we can see that Nevada and Florida Atlantic are favored by 8.5 points and 7.5 points, respectively. Major sportsbooks, however, give bettors the option to bet on alternate spreads with extra juice to increase the likelihood of cashing.
Teasers are all about taking advantage of the key numbers in football. Whether you’re teasing favorites or underdogs, you want to look for certain opportunities. One of the most basic strategies is a two-team teaser where you move the line six points in your favor for both teams.

Week 0 features a prime two-team teaser opportunity involving Nevada (-8.5) and Florida Atlantic (-7.5). By moving the line six points for both teams, we can get key numbers for both favorites. The Wolfpack (-2.5) now only need to win by a field goal, while the Owls (-1.5) only need to win by a couple PATs.
Nevada should be able to run the ball on New Mexico’s weak run defense, but the Wolfpack are debuting several new players, including a new starting quarterback Even though Nevada won this matchup by 27 points last season, teasing them basically ensures they just need to win the game Saturday.
Barstool Sportsbook has a “move the line” feature that allows you to tease the games exactly to your liking. By moving the line for Nevada and Florida Atlantic six points each and combining them into a parlay bet, we can get a two-team teaser at -110 odds.
- Teaser Bet: Nevada -2.5 & Florida Atlantic -1.5 (-110)
