Swen Is Swell For Cowboys

Junior RB Titus Swen is carrying the ball and the load for Wyoming. He’s averaging 4.65 yards per carry this season while gaining 665 yards and rambling for seven touchdowns.

Freshman DQ James gave the Cowboys a 1-2 punch in the backfield during last week’s 28-14 win over Utah State. While Swen went off for 160 yards and three TDs on 28 carries, the frosh James was good for 120 yards on only 10 carries. He’d gone for just 23 yards through the first five games of the season.

Wyoming quarterback Andrew Peasley is completing 53.3% of his passes this season. He’s clicked for 1,204 yards and nine TDs against three interceptions.

However, Wyoming’s key player is kicker John Hoyland. The projected All-American candidate is 18-for-18 on extra points. He’s also hit 17-of-19 field goals, with a long of 55 yards.

Rainbow Warriors Struggling To Move Ball

The #116-ranked offense among the 131 FBS schools, Hawaii is averaging 320.1 yards per game of total offense. Hawaii is also 121st in the NCAA in scoring offense, producing 18.1 points per game. The Rainbow Warriors have been held to 17 points or less in five of eight games this season.

QB Brayden Schager has tossed for four TDs while being picked off six times. Running back Dedrick Parson is Hawaii’s best offensive weapon. He’s rushed for 543 yards and found the end zone 10 times.

Hawaii will be facing a Wyoming defense that is #55 in the NCAA in total defense (366.9 YPG) and #59 in scoring defense (24.8 PPG). Cowboys DE DeVonne Harris has collected seven sacks.

Wyoming vs Hawaii Prediction

Hawaii whipped Wyoming 38-14 in last year’s meeting between the two schools. However, this year’s edition of the Rainbow Warriors look nothing at all like last year’s explosive club.

Hawaii shows a -5 turnover margin. The Rainbow Warriors are also 125th in the nation at stopping the run. They’re allowing 212.2 yards per game and have surrendered 21 rushing TDs this season.
