There’s several key skill players either missing or uncertain to play in the Week 7 MNF game between the San Francisco 49ers and Minnesota Vikings.
Two elite WR – Justin Jefferson (hamstring) of Minnesota and San Francisco’s Deebo Samuel (shoulder) – are out. All-purpose RB Christian McCaffrey of the 49ers is questionable due to an oblique injury. How might all these certain or potential absences impact the 49ers vs Vikings player props?

49ers vs Vikings Props #1: Brandon Aiyuk Receiving Yardage
San Francisco WR Brandon Aiyuk was good for 76 yards in receptions during last week’s loss at Cleveland. He’s gone for 120+ yards in two other games this season.

Only three teams are allowing more yardage to WR than the 1,164 surrendered so far this season by the Vikings defense. With Samuel out, Aiyuk figures to be seeing more targets in the Week 7 MNF game.
Aiyuk’s receiving yardage total for this game is set at 69.5 Take the over on this total in the NFL props. He’s exceeded that number in five of his past eight regular-season games.

49ers vs Vikings Props #2: TJ Hockenson Receptions
Just as Aiyuk should be benefitting from the absence of Samuel, there’s already evidence of how the loss of Jefferson is impacting the Minnesota offense. And the guy who is picking up the slack is Vikings TE TJ Hockenson. Last week, he caught six passes from eight targets. He was good for five receptions from eight targets in the previous game.
TE Red Zone Target Leaders in 2023:

Dalton Schultz 7 👀
T.J. Hockenson 7
Dallas Goedert 6
Adam Trautman 6
Cole Kmet 6— Scott Spratt (@Scott_Spratt) October 16, 2023
Hockenson is second on the Vikings in targets (47) and with 36 receptions shares the team lead in that department with Jefferson. He’s gone over his total for this game of 5.5 receptions in four of six games this season.
- 49ers vs Vikings Prop Picks: TJ Hockenson over 5.5 receptions -105 (1 unit)
49ers vs Vikings Touchdown Scorer Props
Player | Odds to Score 1st TD | Odds to Score Any TD |
---|---|---|
Christian McCaffrey (SF) | +310 | -210 |
George Kittle (SF) | +800 | +150 |
Brandon Aiyuk (SF) | +800 | +145 |
Elijah Mitchell (SF) | +850 | +160 |
Jordan Mason (SF) | +850 | +160 |
Alexander Mattison (MIN) | +900 | +160 |
TJ Hockenson (MIN) | +1200 | +215 |
Jordan Addison (MIN) | +1300 | +230 |
KJ Osborn (MIN) | +1500 | +295 |
Ronnie Bell (SF) | +1600 | +310 |
Even though there’s a chance he might not play, 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey owns the shortest anytime touchdown odds for any player at -210,. McCaffrey has TDs in 12 successive games.
49ers vs Vikings Props #3: George Kittle Anytime Touchdown
San Francisco TE George Kittle has three TD receptions this season. Granted, they all came in the same game, but regardless, Kittle knows how to find the end zone.
Kittle has caught 10 TD passes over his last 10 games. Minus Samuel and with McCaffrey uncertain, Kittle looks to be San Francisco’s best bet for an anytime TD. On top of that, with All-Pro LT Trent Williams also doubtful, NFL sack leader Danielle Hunter may find himself with a clearer path to get to Purdy. If that’s the case, Purdy will be looking more to his safety valve quick release passes underneath to the TE.
