The last two NFC champions square off in the Wild Card round on Sunday, Jan. 11, as the San Francisco 49ers visit the Philadelphia Eagles. A rash of San Francisco injuries has propelled Philadelphia to near-touchdown favorites, and I expect them to build margin through their run game.

As a result, Saquon Barkley headlines my best touchdown picks for the 49ers vs Eagles contest. I’m also targeting his teammate Dallas Goedert to score, and fading Brock Purdy in the player-props market.

Below, you’ll find a table with the 49ers vs Eagles touchdown-scorer props available in the NFL odds, plus my favorite anytime TD picks and props to target.

Barkley boasts the second shortest anytime TD odds at -125, just behind San Fran’s Christian McCaffrey. Barkley has by far the easier matchup, and as a 6-point favorite game script should be in his favor, leading to a plethora of rushing attempts.

49ers vs Eagles Best Touchdown Pick #1: Saquon Barkley

Barkley’s 2025 season has to be categorized as a disappointment. Despite playing in the first 16 games before Philly rested their starters last week, Barkley rushed for only 1,140 yards and 7 TD. That’s nearly 900 yards less, and 6 TD fewer than in 2024, while he also saw his yards per carry drop 1.7 yards per clip.

Even more concerning is the lack of explosive runs this year. Barkley racked up 17 runs of 20+ yards in 2024, compared to only 4 this season.

So why back him to score on Sunday? Well, the matchup is too good to pass up. The Niners defense has been decimated by injury, with their top linebackers all out of action.

49ers Run Defense Since Week 7

StatRank
EPA /Rush32nd
EPA/Rush on Early Downs32nd
Success Rate32nd

Since Week 7, the 49ers rank dead last in EPA per rush, EPA per rush on early downs, and success rate. The Eagles are perfectly happy to bleed the clock with their run game, force feeding Barkley to keep San Fran’s offense off the field.

Also working in Barkley’s favor is the return of Lane Johnson. The stud tackle is PFF’s second highest graded player at his position, and his ability to dominate the opposition will lead to improved efficiency for Barkley on the ground.

49ers vs Eagles Best Touchdown Pick #2: Dallas Goedert

  • Dallas Goedert Anytime TD (+200) at BetMGM

If we’re looking for other players to pick on the Niners with, Goedert immediately stands out. San Fran has struggled miserably to defend tight ends this season, in large part thanks to their linebacker injuries.

The 49ers surrendered the second most touchdowns to tight ends among playoff teams, as well as the fourth most catches. Goedert meanwhile, led the Eagles in TD receptions this season with 11, racking up four in his final three games.

Philly will need consistent production from him if they want to emerge from the NFC side of the NFL playoff bracket again, just like last year when he hauled in 17 receptions for 215 yards during their championship run.

49ers vs Eagles Best Props Pick: Brock Purdy Passing Yards

  • Brock Purdy Under 228.5 Passing Yards (-130) at BetMGM

Moving on to the props market, where I’m betting under 228.5 passing yards for Purdy. Philadelphia allowed the sixth fewest passing yards during the regular season, and yielded the lowest completion percentage to enemy QB’s.

The defending champ in the Super Bowl odds also rank top-two in defending the middle of the field and short passes, which are the bread and butter of the 49ers passing attack.

As for Purdy, he’s been a bit of a school yard bully since returning from injury in Week 12. Since then, he’s posted a 54% success rate versus bottom-12 defenses, but just a 36% success rate versus top-20 defenses. The Eagles are firmly entrenched in the ladder camp, and are built to shut down Purdy, especially without his top tackle Trent Williams.
