Buccaneers vs Falcons Betting Trends
Tampa Bay has more major injury issues heading into Week 1. Star left tackle Tristan Wirfs will miss Sunday’s season opener as he recovers from arthroscopic knee surgery. While wide receivers Chris Godwin (ankle), and Jalen McMillan (neck) are both set for an extended stay on the sidelines. Moreover, quarterback Baker Mayfield’s betting record hardly instills confidence in the Bucs. Throughout Mayfield’s 20 career starts as a favorite against a divisional opponent, his teams are a brutal 6-14 ATS.
On the Falcons side, Michael Penix Jr. is ready to unleash his left arm on the NFL. After going through his first off-season as a starter, Penix Jr. is set up for success in 2025. The former Washington star posted a solid 87.6 PFF passing grade in three starts last year, with the Falcons offensive line keeping him clean with a top-10 pass blocking grade.
The NFL betting trends are working in the Falcons favor in this matchup, as NFL home underdogs are a wildly profitable 23-7 ATS in Week 1 since 2010.
Buccaneers vs Falcons Prediction
The Falcons are an easy pick in this battle as a Week 1 divisional home underdog. Follow the best blind NFL betting trend and back Penix Jr. and the Falcons to pull off the upset.

Buccaneers vs Falcons Player-Prop Picks
As the cornerstone of the Bucs passing attack, Mike Evans hauled in 74 passes in only 14 games last season. Evans exploited the Falcons for five receptions, 62 yards and two touchdowns in one game against his divisional rivals in 2024. The former Texas A&M star posted an elite 26.8% target rate last season, with 2.44 yards per route run, and an elite 2.18 yards per team pass attempt. Raheem Morris loves to play zone coverage, with the Falcons running zone on over 77% of plays. Evans saw a 33.3% first read target share versus zone last year, and is a great bet to soar past 71.5 receiving yards on Sunday.
On the other sideline, Bijan Robinson is the focal point of Atlanta’s fledgling offense. The former first-round pick scored in his last contest against the Bucs, and figures to be a huge part of the gameplan once again on Sunday afternoon. Bijan scored 15 total touchdowns in 2024, and ranked third in the NFL with 66 red zone touches. On top of that, Robinson averaged 17.5 touches and 91.5 total yards versus Tampa. Expect the Texas alum to have every opportunity to find the endzone in Week 1.
Drake London posted an 80% catch rate and exploded for 16 catches, 188 yards and a touchdown in two games against Tampa last year. London saw 157 targets last year, with an elite 29% target share. Bucs coach Todd Bowles loves to blitz and play man coverage in the back end. A coverage that London absolutely demolished in 2024, posting an outstanding 2.66 yards per route run versus man and wild 35.5% target rate. Remember, London led the NFL with 352 receiving yards in Penix Jr.’s three starts for Atlanta last season. Bet on London to have another huge game.
