Buccaneers vs Rams SGP Leg #1 – The Buccaneers Aren’t That Bad

Here’s the thing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers: they aren’t that bad. I know that should go without saying since they’re in first place in their division, but they play in the NFC South. Ohio State could win that division. Still, you can only play the teams on your schedule, and the Buccaneers are doing their jobs.

On top of that, it appears that they’ve entered their Attitude Era, which makes them borderline dangerous at this point.

I only brought up their division because every single loss the Buccaneers have experienced came against a team out of their division. That’s the bad news. The good news is, their losses have come against the New England Patriots, Philadelphia Eagles, Detroit Lions and Buffalo Bills. It’s not like they’re losing to bum teams.

Tonight they’re going to see the Los Angeles Rams, who are definitely not a “bum team”. They’re 8-2 and look like they’re on their way to an NFC West title. The thing with them is, they’ll give up passing yards to opposing quarterbacks. We’re talking 240+ per game here, people. That’s important because I’d expect them to play this thing from ahead. When that happens, Baker Mayfield should be able to do his thing and keep the game within 12.5 points. Feels easy.

TB vs LAR Same-Game Parlay Leg #2 – Points Will Be Scored in This Thing

Having a team to cover 12.5 points is fun and all, but we need to tie something to that number to get this SGP to around even money. It’s the only way we’ll respect ourselves when the game starts. The best way I can think of to get to around even money is to throw the total into the mix and call it a day.

And when we have a guy named Baker “Over” Mayfield playing, I think the choice is made for us as to which side of the total to play.

If we’re being honest with ourselves, the over is just fun. Especially since this is the primetime game and the last one we’ll see today. There’s just something about rooting for both teams to score a ton of points that really gets the blood pumping. It’s natural.

The thing about this game is, we should get the points we’re looking for. The Buccaneers are known “point-giver uppers” so there is that. It’s what they do. They’ve allowed 72 points in their last two games combined. Once the Rams drop a few tuddies on them, we’ll get to see Baker go into “Baker-mode,” which means they’ll start dropping tuddies. Basically, 42.5 points are inevitable in this thing. Feels right.
