The 49ers are sizable home favorites in the MNF odds. The public expects the 49ers to win big in a high-scoring affair.

As of Monday morning, the ATS handle on the home favorites as the public is backing the 49ers in the NFL public betting percentages. The 49ers are getting 63% of the ATS handle as 7.5-point favorites with a healthy 62% of all bets. The Panthers are no slouches, getting 37% of the spread handle and 38% of bets placed. Writer Chris Amberley is backing the 49ers -7 in his Panthers vs 49ers predictions and picks, getting the benefit of some closing line value on San Francisco.

As to be expected, the moneyline is heavily slanted toward the 49ers. A whopping 88% of the moneyline handle is on the 49ers with nearly 94% of all bets coming up red and gold. On the contrary, just 12% of the moneyline handle and a tick under 7% of moneyline bets are on the Panthers.

The public is split on the total. On one hand, the majority of the handle (63%) is on the over. Only 37% of the handle is on the under. On the other hand, 57% of all bets are on the under with just 43% of bets on the over. This means that the average bet on the over is larger while under bettors are more conservative in their wagers.

CAR Panthers vs SF 49ers Injury Reports

PanthersInjuryGame Status
Christian Rozeboom (LB)Hip/HamstringOut
Trevin Wallace (LB)ShoulderOut
Cade Mays (C)AnkleOut

Outside of the linebacker room, the Panther are quite healthy this week. The Panthers will likely insert Nick Samac into the lineup at center with Cade Mays popping up on the injury report late in the week before being ruled out for MNF.

The linebacker duo of Trevin Wallace and Christian Rozeboom will be sorely missed against San Francisco’s relentless over-the-middle attack. Claudin Cherelus and Maema Njongmeta will play bigger roles in Carolina’s base defense.

Robert Beal Jr. (DL)ConcussionDoubtful
Tatum Bethune (LB)AnkleOut

Ricky Pearsall (WR)KneeUnspecified
Eddy Pineiro (K)Right HamstringOut
Brock Purdy (QB)ToeUnspecified
Curtis Robinson (LB)ElbowUnspecified
Trent Williams (LT)RestUnspecified
Dee Winters (LB)KneeUnspecified

A whopping ten 49ers are on the injury report, but two offensive studs – Christian McCaffrey and Trent Williams – can be ignored as they missed practice for rest purposes. Fellow offensive starters Ricky Pearsall and Brock Purdy are listed as “unspecified,” but they are expected to play.

On the special teams front, Eddy Pineiro will miss this week with a right hamstring injury. His likely replacement is veteran Matt Gay. Gay is currently on San Francisco’s practice squad afterr missing two kicks last week for the Commanders. For the season, Gay is 13-of-19 (68.4%), but five of his six misses came from 50+.

Only one other 49er has been ruled out: Tatum Bethune. Bethune has stepped in after Fred Warner’s season-ending injury, but Bethune will miss his first game of the season. In 11 games (five starts), he has 67 total tackles, two tackles for loss, and a pass deflection.

Bethune is one of four 49ers linebackers on the injury report. Luke Gifford is listed as questionable with both Curtis Robinson and Dee Winters listed as unspecified. Missing Warner has already tested San Fran’s depth, but the 49ers are on life support if more linebackers miss time along with Bethune.

The last 49er on the injury report is defensive lineman Robert Beal Jr. Beal is doubtful to play on Monday night. Beal has played five games this season, recording 10 total tackles.
