  • The Kansas City Chiefs and Baltimore Ravens meet on SNF Week 2 in Baltimore at 8:20 pm ET on Sunday, Sep. 19th
  • Both teams were involved in Week 1 thrillers although only the Chiefs came away with a win

M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore, Maryland, will be the site of this Sunday night’s Kansas City Chiefs vs Baltimore Ravens matchup. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20pm ET on NBC. Pristine football weather is expected with temperatures in the mid to upper 70s at kickoff.

The Chiefs dodged a bullet last week overcoming a 22-10 halftime deficit to beat the Cleveland Browns (33-29). Tyreek Hill was incredible, catching 11 balls for 197 yards and a score. The Ravens weren’t so lucky as they fumbled away their Week 1 game with the Las Vegas Raiders, 33-27, on Monday night.

Kansas City opened as one-point favorites but the line has jumped all the way to Chiefs -4. The total is sitting at a high 54.5 after starting out at 51.5. As always, there are plenty of player props to consider.

Patrick Mahomes Is Still Good

The most dangerous quarterback in the NFL right now is Patrick Mahomes. Yes Aaron Rodgers is great, Lamar Jackson is a matchup nightmare, and Justin Herbert is on his way, but there’s nobody like Mahomes. It’s plays like this that make you wonder if he’s even human. Notice the situation and where they are on the field.

Anytime you bet a Patrick Mahomes prop, you better be right about the game script. His passing-yards total is pretty lofty but is actually easy to hit if you are right about the game script. If you are wrong, you have no chance of winning and you will know it pretty early.

I think we will see some points in this one. Kansas City allowed the Cleveland Browns to run all over them last Sunday. Both Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt both averaged 5.5 yards on the ground while both scored touchdowns. If the Ravens have similar success, this one could get fun.

We need the Ravens to score to put pressure on the Chiefs to throw. It has worked in the past as Mahomes has beaten the Ravens all three times he’s played them and averaged 378 passing yards in those games. Last season in Week 3 Mahomes went off for 385 yards and 4 touchdowns in this game which was also in primetime. 317.5 is a lot of yards but when you’re talking about Patrick Mahomes, it’s nothing.

  • The Pick: Patrick Mahomes Over 317.5 Passing Yards (-115) – Wager 1.15 units to win 1 unit
  • NFL Player Props Record – 2-1 +1 Unit

Who Scores?

SNF is a great game for touchdown scorers. We almost have to get one in as this is the last game before the clock strikes midnight and a new work week is in front of us. Lucky for us, there should be plenty of touchdowns in this one. I like Clyde Edwards-Helaire to find paydirt Sunday night.

A lot is being made of Devonta Freeman being promoted to the active roster for the Ravens so that pretty much takes their entire running back room out of the conversation. Le’Veon Bell could even end up on the active roster by the time kickoff rolls around to further complicate matters. It’s a shame because the Chiefs’ defense gave up three rushing touchdowns to Cleveland’s running backs last week. Still, we have no idea who will be on the field and when for the Ravens this week.

The same can’t be said about the Chiefs and Clyde Edwards-Helaire. He is highly likely to be on the field especially when the Chiefs get near the goal line. His +115 price should be much higher but that’s life in the touchdown scorer market. Still, the Ravens let Josh Jacobs score twice from in close last week so Kansas City will likely let Edwards-Helaire get an attempt or two should they make it to the goal line. I like him to punch one in.

  • Pick: Clyde Edwards-Helaire – Anytime Touchdown Scorer (+115) – Wager .1 unit to win .115 units
  • Touchdown Scorer prop record 0-3 -.3 units
