Not surprisingly, the Over is the play in total wagering. Kansas City scored 48 points last week in beating the Raiders. The Chargers tallied up an average of 39.66 points per game across their last three victories. With 89% of handle and 86% of bets supporting the Over, it’s caused the total to grow from 49.5 to 52 points.
KC Doing It With Defense
When they were 3-4 at the seven-game mark of the NFL season, it was defense that was proving to be the downfall for the Chiefs. They allowed 27+ plus points in six of those seven games.

During their current six-game unbeaten run, it’s defense that is carrying the day for KC. The Chiefs are allowing 10.83 points per game during this run. The last three weeks, they’ve lowered that average to nine points per game.
Los Angeles is scoring 27 points per game this season. That’s tied for eighth in the NFL with the Chiefs. In the last two weeks, the Chargers scored 88 points.
Chiefs vs Chargers Injury Report
Kansas City left defensive end Chris Jones Jr and wide receiver Josh Gordon have entered COVID-19 protocols and are out. Right cornerback L’Jarius Sneed (personal) is listing as questionable.
For LA, of great concern is that running back Austin Ekeler (ankle ) is showing as questionable. He’s tied for second in the NFL with 16 touchdowns.
#Chargers coach Brandon Staley was optimistic about RB Austin Ekeler’s ankle on Sunday, tellign reporters he looked “fine.” Sounds like Ekeler reaggravated the ankle from last week that put him on the injury report. With a quick turnaround vs. the #Chiefs, it’s one to watch.

Wide receiver Mike Williams (heel), tight end Jared Cook (quadriceps), nose tackle Linval Joseph (shoulder), right defensive end Justin Jones (ankle) and strong safety Derwin James Jr (hamstring) are questionable. Left tackle Rashawn Slater (COVID-19) is out.
Chiefs vs Chargers Betting Trends
Kansas City is winning games by an average margin of 16.3 points during this six-game win streak. KC quarterback Patrick Mahomes has thrown just two TD passes over the past three games. Chargers QB Justin Herbert has thrown for 11 TDs over the past four games.

Herbert is leading the NFL in comeback wins (five) and game-winning drives (five). Chiefs RB Clyde Edwards-Helaire has run for three TDs in three games since returning from a knee injury.
The KC defense has scored a TD in each of the last two games. The unit has forced 16 takeaways during the winning streak.
Chiefs vs Chargers Prediction
There’s little to choose between these two offenses. Over the past four games, LA has outscored KC 132-130. In terms of yardage, the Bolts hold a 1,676-1,525 edge.

The road team is dominating this series of late. The Chargers won the last two games played at KC. But they’ve never beaten KC in LA since relocating there in 2017. The Chiefs are 3-0 straight up over that stretch. KC also won a game played in Mexico in which LA was the designated home team.
