  • The Baltimore Ravens are -6.5 favorites over the Cleveland Browns on Sunday
  • The Browns lost to the Patriots last week, while the Ravens lost to the Giants.

So, the Cleveland Browns vs Baltimore Ravens matchup on Sunday will not be wet just cloudy.

Now, even with how bad Cleveland looked last week, they are only 6.5-point road underdogs vs the Ravens.

Granted, the Browns had a chance to get to .500 last week and squandered a huge opportunity. Then, the Ravens did one worse up at MetLife Stadium by fumbling a chance to take the division lead outright.

Both teams have injury issues with Jadeveon Clowney questionable for Cleveland while Rashod Bateman did not practice on Friday for Baltimore. There is a little more infirmary-type news below.

Cleveland Browns vs Baltimore Ravens gets started Sunday from M&T Bank Stadium at 1pm ET, in a game that can be seen live on CBS.

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Cleveland Browns +6.5 (-110) +230 Ov 45.5 (-109)

Baltimore’s odds have moved around from 1 to 2 points. The over moved to 45.5 but could move again depending on Sunday’s weather.

So, the NFL Betting Trends curve a bit toward the road team. A whopping 84% of the bets placed are for the Browns to cover the spread but the money is 90-10 on the Ravens’ side.

That movement with the total has not had that much impact. The over is only being bet 53% of the time.

Browns Betting Outlook

This game has now become quite important for the Browns and coach Kevin Stefanski. Many probably did not expect New England to score 38 points on Cleveland with their backup quarterback. However, that is just what happened.

After three close losses, the Browns gave up five touchdowns and 301 yards passing (399 yards offense) as Bailey Zappe did whatever he wanted against the Cleveland defense last Sunday.

Last week, Cleveland’s rush defense was better yielding just 3.4 yards per carry. The two weeks prior the Browns gave up a combined 440 yards – 200+ to both Atlanta and the Los Angeles Chargers.

What could help Cleveland is if Clowney could play. The Browns’ defense has to do a better job of getting teams off the field. Allowing 68 points the previous couple of weeks was one thing. Losing double-digit expected points again was another. The Browns still are just a game out of first place in the AFC North.

The Browns are capable of more but even last week, their offense seemed to be lost as well.

Again, Cleveland, for better or for worse, needs Deshaun Watson in the lineup. Jacoby Brissett is just not good enough in this offense. Nick Chubb and the receiving corps can only do so much.

Brissett will need a giant performance along with the defense this week against an angry Ravens team.

Ravens Betting Outlook

At home, the Ravens have another chance to take the AFC North lead outright and this time get above .500.

John Harbaugh cannot be happy as the Ravens’ defense ranks 28th in passing yards allowed and 20th in overall points yielded. Last week, they gave up 24 points to the New York Giants including 14 in the second half.

The Ravens’ offense had over 200 yards rushing again but Lamar Jackson struggled to complete 50% of his passes, fumbled twice, and lost one fumble at a crucially bad time. That sparked the Giants as they converted the miscue into instant points.

Again, this week could be rough for Cleveland as Lamar Jackson feels wholly responsible for Baltimore’s loss. At 3-3, the Ravens know this is a crucial game where slipping up is not an option.

Home games seem to be an issue for teams in the AFC North. No one has won twice at home yet this season. Baltimore does tend to play a little more composed on the road.

Baltimore has been solid defensively for the most part but have given up points at key junctures. The last three weeks have been problematic. It is a significant reason why they have lost two of their past three games.

Also, the Ravens have to play better in the second halves of games. Too many leads have been squandered because the Ravens suddenly get too predictable.

If any team can flip the script a bit, that would be the Baltimore Ravens.

Browns vs Ravens Pick

The AFC North feels like the division that no one wants to win. Could this all be an exercise in futility? Can Cleveland stop a dynamic attack? Can Baltimore overcome their second half glitches? The Ravens need to play a complete game on Sunday against a hungry opponent.

The concern for Baltimore is holding the lead.

The worry for Cleveland is can they slow down Lamar Jackson long enough on Sunday.

This game feels like a contest where Baltimore takes over in the fourth quarter this time.

The Pick: Baltimore -6.5 (-110) 1 unit

2022 Record: 4-2; Overall: 4-2, +1.5 units
