The NFL is back! Week 1 kicks off tonight with the Cowboys facing the Eagles, in what’s expected to be one of the most heavily bet games in NFL history. The majority of the money will likely be wagered on spreads and totals that are ultra efficient by now, but I believe there continues to be money to be made in NFL player props.

I’ve compiled my two favorite player-prop bets below, plus a pair of touchdown props, one of which offers a massive payday.

I’m starting my Cowboys vs Eagles player props with over 248.5 passing yards for Dak Prescott. That’s 36 yards higher than Jalen Hurts’ line, while Prescott also projects for five more completions.

On the ground, Saquon Barkley boasts the highest rushing yards prop at 93.5, followed not by any Cowboys back, but rather Hurts at 40.5.

As for the wide receivers, CeeDee Lamb has a game-high 71.5 receiving yards prop, two yards higher than A.J. Brown’s. I expect the Prescott to Lamb connection to be very busy tonight, if Dallas has any chance of hanging with one of the top Super Bowl odds contenders.

Cowboys vs Eagles Best Bet #1: Dak Prescott Passing Yards

Let’s not overthink this. Prescott has three 4,400+ yard seasons under his belt, and is one of the NFL’s top passers when healthy. The Cowboys already have Lamb, a top-three receiver in football, and they solidified the number-two role by adding George Pickens.

Dallas is an -8.5 point underdog in the Cowboys vs Eagles odds, so projected game script will call for a pass-heavy scheme. Nobody runs on the Eagles to begin with, and the Cowboys running back room looks more like one that belongs in the UFL.

Dak Prescott Last 3 Games vs Eagles

DatePassing Yards

Nov. 5, 2023374
Dec. 24, 2022347

Philly’s pass defense was a big strength last season, but they’ve lost a ton of high-quality pass rushers and defensive backs. That will allow Prescott more time to throw, and he has the weapons to put up a big night.

  • Dak Prescott Over 248.5 Passing Yards (-114 at FanDuel); 1 unit

Cowboys vs Eagles Best Bet #2: Javonte Williams Under 34.5 Rushing Yards

Speaking of the Philly run defense, it allowed just 4.08 yards per carry last season, and their defensive line grades out second overall per Pro Football Focus.

That’s trouble for new Dallas RB Javonte Williams, who was one of the lowest graded runners last season. Williams has had 28 or fewer rushing yards in 12 of his last 18 games, and is part of a three-back committee with Miles Sanders and Jaydon Blue. It all adds up to an easy fade.

  • Javonte Williams Under 34.5 Rushing Yards (-114 at FanDuel); 1 unit

Moving over to the Cowboys vs Eagles touchdown scorer props, where Barkely has the shortest odds to find the end zone at -210. Right below him is Hurts, who for my money, is easily the most likely to score.

Cowboys vs Eagles Best Bet #3: Jalen Hurts Anytime TD

As long as the tush-push remains legal, Hurts is going to be among the league leaders in rushing TD. If and when the Eagles get inside the 5-yard line, Hurts is a near lock to get multiple scoring opportunities.

YouTube video

He racked up 19 rushing TD in 2024 between the regular season and playoffs, and has 52 rushing scores over the last three years. It also doesn’t hurt that the Cowboys just lost Micah Parsons, and surrendered 10 rushing TD to QB’s last season. As always, make sure you scan our NFL betting apps to find the best odds.

If you want to get frisky, you can also look at Dallas’ KaVontae Turpin for 1st TD at +4500. The speedster will be used as a deep threat in the passing game, but also returns kicks. He’s one of the premier return men in the league, and the NFL has changed their kickoff rules again to encourage more run backs.
