Cowboys vs Lions SGP Leg #1 – Dallas Might Actually Be Good
For the team portion of the parlay, I’m thinking we back the Dallas Cowboys. Since their bye week, they’ve won three straight games, including a Thanksgiving Day win over the Kansas City Chiefs. Just between us, the Cowboys actually look like a playoff team at this point.
And if Dak Prescott keeps playing the way he’s been playing, they could very well end up in the playoffs.
Here’s the thing: we’re not taking the standard line of +3.5. All we have to do is bump it up to 7.5, and we’re all set. The Dallas offense has dropped two 30-bombs during their three-game winning streak, so I feel comfortable thinking they can drop another one tonight. The Detroit defense isn’t exactly stopping people at the moment.
Over their last two games, the Lions have given up at least 27 points to each of their opponents. One of those teams was the New York Giants. That’s embarrassing. They got motor-boated in the pass game as seven touchdowns came via the forward pass in those two games. Now they’ll be forced to contend with Dak Prescott and company, which means even more pass game problems. Simply put, the Cowboys should be able to score enough to keep this thing within 7.5 points.
DAL vs DET Same-Game Parlay Leg #2 – The Lions Are Going to Score Points
Now all we need to do is take Detroit’s team total over, and we’re in business. It seems like it would be dumb to take one team to cover and parlay it with the other team to score points but it’s not. It’s actually genius. We’re all geniuses now.
But if we’re being honest, it doesn’t take a genius to back a team with Jahmyr Gibbs.
Teams with Jahmry Gibbs score points. It’s just the way having Jahmyr Gibbs on your team works. He’s basically a cheat code. The man has scored 13 touchdowns this season, and he still has a month left in the season. We know that Dallas shored up their run defense at the trade deadline with Quinnen Williams, but still. We’re talking Jahmry Gibbs here.
At the end of the day, the Cowboys will give up points. We just watched them give up 28 to the Kansas City Chiefs last week. Even with a better run defense, they are still not great in the pass game, where guys like Gibbs and Jameson Williams can kill. They’re actually a pass funnel at this point, which helps our cause more than it hurts. They should hang at least 24 points on the Cowboys tonight. I’m thinking a 31-27 type game. Feels easy.
