Last Thursday we got three phenomenal games on the Thanksgiving Day NFL slate. Week 14 starts off with another banger on Thursday Night Football, as the Dallas Cowboys (6-5-1) visit the Detroit Lions (7-5) in a pivotal matchup in the NFC playoff picture.
This game is going to garner a ton of interest in the betting market, with superstars like Jahmyr Gibbs, CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens drawing the most wagers in the player prop categories.
The first table below lists the main Cowboys vs Lions player props available in the TNF odds, plus my favorite O/U to target. The second table features the anytime touchdown props.
DAL Cowboys vs DET Lions Player Props
My Cowboys vs Lions player props card starts with over 25.5 yards for Pickens’ longest reception. He and Lamb are arguably the best one-two receiving punch in the NFL, and the Detroit defense is in shambles.
I’m also betting under 5.5 catches for Jameson Williams, as I don’t think the line reflects just how volatile a player he is. I’ll cap it off with an anytime TD for Lamb, who is underpriced at +120,

Cowboys vs Lions Player Prop Bet #1: George Pickens Longest Reception
- George Pickens Longest Reception Over 25.5 Yards (-130 at FanDuel)
Let’s start with Pickens. Going to the Cowboys has revitalized his career, as he and Dak Prescott have formed a remarkable connection. Pickens leads all receivers in total EPA, while only three other receivers have accumulated more yards after the catch.
George Pickens Big Plays
He’s a big play waiting to happen, with 18 catches of 20+ yards, and 8 catches of 30+ yards. That spells trouble for the Lions defense, who’ve surrendered 600 passing yards over the last two games, and seven catches of at least 25 yards.
Cowboys vs Lions Player Prop Bet #2: Jameson Williams Receptions
- Jameson Williams Under 5.5 Receptions (-119 at DraftKings)
On to Williams now, who took on a starring role in the Detroit offense last week when Amon-Ra St. Brown went down. St. Brown is a true game-time decision on Thursday night, but he hasn’t practiced all week due to his ankle sprain, and his chances of playing don’t seem high.
Whether he plays or not, this is a perfect sell-high spot on Williams. He has just a 60% catch rate this season, with six games of 2 catches or less, including a zero burger in a contest versus the Giants where the Lions ran 65 plays.
I’m aware Dallas’ pass defense is putrid and will hold them back from being a Super Bowl odds contender, but I’m also aware that names like Isaac TeSlaa, Tom Kennedy and Ross Dwelley aren’t scaring anyone. The Cowboys can play an extra man on Williams, and force the other no-name Detroit pass catchers to beat them.
Cowboys vs Lions Anytime Touchdown Odds
Shifting over to the Cowboys vs Lions anytime touchdown props, where for some reason four players are priced shorter than Lamb to find the end zone. I’ll take that value all day, as Lamb should feast in primetime.
Cowboys vs Lions Player Prop Bet #3: CeeDee Lamb Anytime TD
Detroit has allowed the second most touchdowns to wide receivers this season, and just coughed up four to the Packers last week. Their secondary is dealing with multiple injuries to starters, and just put former 1st round pick Terrion Arnold on IR.
The Lions run a ton of man coverage, despite not having the corner talent to do so. Lamb absolutely destroys man coverage, and I love both his and Pickens’ chances of scoring a touchdown on TNF.
