Regardless of your take on the games/odds in the Wild-Card Round, there is objectively one correct way to use this promo if you apply it this weekend: make your $5 qualifying wager on the Kansas City Chiefs, who are -650 home favorites against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Odds as of January 11 at DraftKings.
By betting on the Chiefs – and guaranteeing yourself a $280 profit if KC wins – you can then hedge effectively by wagering on the Steelers, either to pull the upset or cover the 12.5-point spread.
If you want to guarantee yourself a roughly equal profit regardless of who wins, you would only need to wager $51 on the Steelers. A $51 bet at +460 odds would net a profit of $234.60 if Pittsburgh wins. Subtract the $5 qualifying wager on the Chiefs and you have $229.60.
If the Chiefs win, you would subtract the $51 wager on Pittsburgh from your $280 profit and be left with $229.
There are other ways to play this – greedier ways. In particular, you could bet a full $280 on Pittsburgh +12.5 (-110). In that case, if KC wins but Pitt covers, you would end the day $534.80 in the black.
You could also bet $280 on Pittsburgh to pull an upset at +460. If they did somehow knock off the Chiefs at Arrowhead, you would win $1,283 in profit.
Note, however, that the bonus money is paid as bonus bets, which are not equivalent to cash. When you win a wager placed with a bonus bet, you do not receive the stake back as part of the return; you only receive the profit.
