Best Way to Use DraftKings New York’s 56-1 NFL Playoff Odds Boost

Regardless of your take on the games/odds in the Wild-Card Round, there is objectively one correct way to use this promo if you apply it this weekend: make your $5 qualifying wager on the Kansas City Chiefs, who are -650 home favorites against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Wild-Card Round Odds and Spreads

Team Moneyline Spread Over/Under
Las Vegas Raiders +205 +6 (-110) Over 49.5 (-110)
Cincinnati Bengals -255 -6 (-110) Under 49.5 (-110)
Team Moneyline Spread Over/Under
New England Patriots +160 +3.5 (-110) Over 42.5 (-115)
Buffalo Bills -190 -3.5 (-110) Under 42.5 (-105)
Team Moneyline Spread Over/Under
Philadelphia Eagles +290 +8.5 (-110) Over 49.0 (-110)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers -390 -8.5 (-110) Under 49.0 (-110)
Team Moneyline Spread Over/Under
San Francisco 49ers +125 +3 (-115) Over 50.5 (-110)
Dallas Cowboys -145 -3 (-105) Under 50.5 (-110)
Team Moneyline Spread Over/Under
Pittsburgh Steelers +460 +12.5 (-110) Over 46.5 (-110)
Kansas City Chiefs -650 +12.5 (-110) Under 46.5 (-110)
Team Moneyline Spread Over/Under
Arizona Cardinals +160 +4 (-110) Over 50.0 (-110)
Los Angeles Rams -190 -4 (110) Under 50.0 (-110)

Odds as of January 11 at DraftKings.

By betting on the Chiefs – and guaranteeing yourself a $280 profit if KC wins – you can then hedge effectively by wagering on the Steelers, either to pull the upset or cover the 12.5-point spread.

If you want to guarantee yourself a roughly equal profit regardless of who wins, you would only need to wager $51 on the Steelers. A $51 bet at +460 odds would net a profit of $234.60 if Pittsburgh wins. Subtract the $5 qualifying wager on the Chiefs and you have $229.60.

If the Chiefs win, you would subtract the $51 wager on Pittsburgh from your $280 profit and be left with $229.

There are other ways to play this – greedier ways. In particular, you could bet a full $280 on Pittsburgh +12.5 (-110). In that case, if KC wins but Pitt covers, you would end the day $534.80 in the black.

You could also bet $280 on Pittsburgh to pull an upset at +460. If they did somehow knock off the Chiefs at Arrowhead, you would win $1,283 in profit.

Note, however, that the bonus money is paid as free bets, which are not equivalent to cash. When you win a wager placed with a free bet, you do not receive the stake back as part of the return; you only receive the profit.
