Patriots vs Broncos SGP Leg #1 – Jarrett Stidham Isn’t Some BS Guy

The big news from the AFC Divisional Round was the Bo Nix injury. Most people left that game having no idea he hurt his ankle. I was one of those people. I actually thought it was an Internet hoax at first since the broadcast never showed anything.

Lucky for the Broncos, they’ve got Jarrett Stidham waiting in the wings. That guy is no joke.

Obviously, not having your starting quarterback in the AFC Championship Game is a bad thing. But, if it were to happen, the least we could ask for is a guy who has started before and has had at least moderate success. We’d have to go all the way back to 2023 to see that “moderate” success, but it happened.

That season, the Broncos let Jarrett start the final two games of the season. In both of those games, Stidham threw for 224+ yards and a touchdown. Obviously, the stakes weren’t as high as they’ll be for this weekend, but the point is, he at least looked the part of an NFL quarterback. I don’t think it is that crazy to start his baby lotto parlay with Stidham to go for 225+ passing yards and 2+ passing touchdowns. Feels easy.

NE vs DEN Same-Game Parlay Leg #2 – Evan Engram Isn’t That Bad

With a new quarterback comes new options in the passing game. These quarterbacks aren’t all the same. Some like to checkdown, some like to run, some like to go after the boundaries, and some like to go over the middle of the field. It is what it is.

Given the type of quarterback Stidham is, people are thinking Evan Engram could be in line for a larger workload.

Here’s the thing with Engram: he’s a tough guy to trust. He’s got every physical tool we’d want out of a tight end; he’s just never put together a monster season. The good news is, we don’t need a monster season out of him at this point. We don’t even need a monster game.

We just need 30+ receiving yards. That’s it. He literally just did that a few weeks ago against the Los Angeles Chargers. Now he gets another chance against the Patriots, who have given it up to opposing tight ends all season. We’re talking 971 receiving yards to the position on the year. Just last week, Dalton Schulz went for 47 on them. We just need 30 out of Engram. Feels easy.
