Will Jacksonville Jaguars QB1 Trevor Lawrence be playing in the Week 7 TNF game against the New Orleans Saints? That’s the most pressing concern being watched in the Jaguars vs Saints injury reports and inactives for this game.
Lawrence is nursing a mildly sprained knee, an injury he suffered late in last week’s win over the Indianapolis Colts. He’ll be taking part in a pre-game workout and then the decision will be made whether Lawrence is going to play.
New Orleans is the 2-point home chalk over Jacksonville in the Jaguars vs Saints odds. The Saints are 5-0 against the spread in the last five games facing the Jaguars.
So far in the Jaguars vs Saints public betting splits, Jacksonville is getting the slight majority of ATS handle (60% as 2-point road underdogs) as well as the majority of the moneyline splits action (86% as +118-point road underdogs).

Jaguars Optimistic Lawrence Will Play
Reporting improvement in Lawrence’s ailing left knee, Jaguars head coach Doug Pederson is telling NFL insiders that his QB1 will be suiting up and starting unless Lawrence is displaying any indication of a setback during his pre-game workout. Lawrence is also expressing confidence that he’ll be playing the Week 7 TNF game.
Jacksonville HC Doug Pederson told @WerderEdESPN that he expects Jaguars’ QB Trevor Lawrence will start tonight against the Saints, pending a pregame workout. Lawrence has reported improvement in his mild left knee sprain.

There’s also issues along the Jacksonville offensive line. Both starting guards are hurting. RG Brandon Scherff (ankle) is questionable, while LG Walker Little (knee) is out. Backup G Cooper Hodges (knee) is on IR.

Saints to Activate Williams from IR
Already having welcomed back All-Pro Alvin Kamara from NFL suspension, the New Orleans backfield depth could grow much more crowded for this game.
Jamaal Williams and Alvin Kamara have not been together for a game yet for the #Saints. They will tonight. https://t.co/XeXLroT0du

RB Jamaal Williams (hamstring), the club’s key offseason free-agent addition and FB Adam Prentice (knee) are both listed as probable. It’s expected each player will be activated from IR to face the Jaguars.

On defense, MLB Demario Davis (knee) is carrying an injury designation of questionable. He hasn’t practiced all week. FS Tyrann Mathieu (foot) is also questionable.
How Could Injuries Affect Jaguars vs Saints Betting Lines?
The impact is already being witnessed due to the uncertainty surrounding Lawrence’s status. The line on this game in the Jaguars vs Saints picks has gone from New Orleans -1 to Saints -2. It’s also impacting the Jaguars vs Saints player props. You can’t currently get any passing props relating to Lawrence.
The potential absence of Scherff is another factor that can’t be overlooked here. RB Travis Etienne is proving to be the driver of the Jacksonville offense, much of his rushing yardage coming from running behind the blocking of Scherff. Last week, Scherff saw action on 23 offensive snaps. Etienne made eight carries for 45 yards (5.6 yards per carry) during that time. After Scherff’s injury loss, Etienne gained 10 yards on 10 carries.
There are real issues for both teams in the secondary. Behind Campbell, two backup Jaguars CB are on IR – Gregory Junior (hamstring) and Christian Braswell (hamstring). As well. CB Chris Claybooks is under NFL suspension on the commissioner’s exempt list.
With the Saints, the issue is at safety. Behind Mathieu, backups Lonnie Johnson Jr (hamstring) is also questionable. JT Gray (hamstring) is out.
