So, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs Los Angeles Rams matchup on Sunday will feature summer-like weather.

Now, even with how awful Tampa Bay has been, they are still 3-point home favorites vs the Rams.

Granted, the Rams and Buccaneers both had chances to stay near the top of their divisions but squandered them once more.

Both teams have injury issues with Cooper Kupp questionable (ankle) for Los Angeles while Mike Evans, Cameron Brate, and Julio Jones are still quite limited.

Los Angeles Rams vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers gets started Sunday from Raymond James Stadium at 4:25pm ET, in a game that can be seen live on FOX.

Tampa Bay’s odds have moved around from 2.5 to 3 points. The over shifted to 42.5 and expect it to stay there barring a Cooper Krupp setback.

So, the NFL Betting Trends curve a bit toward the road team. A whopping 87% of the bets placed are for the Rams to cover the spread but the money is pretty much split.

That movement with the total has not had that much impact. The under is being bet 87% of the time.

Buccaneers Betting Outlook

This game has now become almost a must-win for the Buccaneers and coach Todd Bowles. Many probably did not expect Baltimore to beat Tampa Bay. However, that is just what happened as Lamar Smith and the Ravens held off Tampa Bay.

After two straight wins to start the season, the Buccaneers have lost five of their previous six games. They have only scored 24 or more points once all season (they lost that game 41-31 to Kansas City).

Last week, Tom Brady got little help from his offensive line and particularly the running game. Tampa Bay’s rushing attack has only averaged more than three yards a game once (Week 1 against Dallas). Brady did throw for 300 yards against Baltimore but most of that came late in the game.

What could help Tampa Bay is if the running game musters anything. The Buccaneers’ defense has to do a better job of stopping the run. They have allowed 150+ yards on the ground in four of the last five weeks. When the Carolina Panthers run for 173 yards and Baltimore runs for 231 more, that’s a big problem.

Even the Rams might be able to run a bit on the Buccaneers this week.

Again, Tampa Bay’s defense needs to get them off the field faster. Tom Brady needs a little more balance for the offense to help the defense.

Brady will need a great performance this week to defeat the Rams on Sunday.

Rams Betting Outlook

On the road, the Rams have another chance to get to .500.

Sean McVay is frustrated as the Rams’ defense ranks 5th in yards allowed and 17th in overall points yielded. Last week, they gave up 31 points to the San Francisco 49ers, including 21 unanswered in the second half.

The Rams’ offense tripped over itself with just 223 yards (167 passing). After two early Matthew Stafford touchdowns, the Rams generated little to nothing of note in the second half.

Again, this week features a lot of unknown for the Rams. Cooper Kupp seems to be progressing with his ankle injury. Van Jefferson now has a full week of practice after the lack of targets in Week 8.

There is no dominant rusher or a semblance of one for Los Angeles. The offensive line has been knocked around all season and San Francisco’s offensive and defensive front line flat out punched the Rams in the mouth last week.

Again, Los Angeles continues to make mistakes offensively. Stafford has eight interceptions himself and had two or three near miscues against the 49ers. The quarterback has to find a way to push the ball down the field somehow.

Also, the Rams have to score more. They rank 28th in the league with just 118 points. That is a mere 16.9 points per game. Tampa Bay is scoring at a rate of just 18.3 points per contest. This might get ugly especially if Cam Akers is out again.

Maybe, that ship has sailed too.

Buccaneers vs Rams Prediction

Everything about this game screams to choose the under here. Between injuries, poor play, and ugly defending, there are lots of reasons to go the easy route.

The concern for both teams is fielding a competitive offense. Sunday may start off offensive and end up “offensive”.

The Pick: Under 42.5 points (-110) 1 unit

2022 Record: 6-3; Overall: 6-3, +2.5 units
