  • The Los Angeles Rams will visit the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Raymond James Stadium for Monday Night Football in Week 11
  • MNF Picks Record: 1-3 ATS; 2-4 O/U; -4.7 Units
  • The under is 7-2 in the Rams nine games this season

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will host the Los Angeles Rams on Monday Night Football in a Week 11 matchup of two of the top teams in the NFC. The Bucs are 7-3 and the Rams are 6-3, but neither team is in first place in their division. So these two are the No. 5 and No. 6 seeds in the NFC playoff picture.

The last time the Bucs played in a primetime game, they were humiliated by the New Orleans Saints. Are they a good bet to show better and cover the spread this time around?

Bucs Rebounded Versus Panthers

The Bucs were embarrassed in a 38-3 loss to the New Orleans Saints two weeks ago on Sunday Night Football. They rebounded in a big way against the Carolina Panthers last Sunday. Tom Brady, who threw three interceptions and no touchdowns against the Saints, threw three touchdowns and no picks against the Panthers in the Bucs 46-23 win.

A big key to the Bucs success last week was their running game. One week after setting an NFL record for the fewest rushing attempts in a game, the Bucs ran the ball 37 times for 210 yards and two touchdowns against Carolina. They’ll be in tough to duplicate that effort on Monday when they face the league’s fifth-rank run defense.

Rams Return Following Big Win Over Seahawks

While the Bucs failed to beat the top team in their division, the Rams did the opposite last Sunday. Needing a win to close the gap on the NFC West-leading Seattle Seahawks, the Rams held Seattle to a season-low 16 points in their 23-16 win. It was one of their best defensive efforts of the season from a unit that’s proving to be quite underrated.

The Rams defense is second in the NFL in points allowed per game as well as yards. In the passing game, they’ve done a great job of applying pressure as they’re third in the league in that category (31). Former top 10 draft pick Leonard Floyd has been a revelation as he had just seven sacks total over the last two seasons; he has seven already for the Rams this year.

As for the Rams’ run defense, they are fifth in the NFL in rushing yards per game and they’ve allowed the third-fewest rushing touchdowns. That sets up an interesting showdown with the Bucs, who have one of the league’s more explosive offenses.

What’s The Best Bet?

There are two good defenses on the field here but the offenses are effective enough to get us to the over. The Rams have played a lot of unders this season (under 7-2 in nine games) but keep in mind they have only faced two offenses in the Top 10 in points per game. Meanwhile, the over is 4-1 in Bucs games this season where the total is 42.5 to 49.
