The Rams had the opportunity to keep their undefeated record intact and move into sole position of first in the NFC West, but slipped to 3-1 and third in the division after their Week 4 loss.

This matchup features the smallest spread of the week and both teams have had success ATS through four games this season.

Los Angeles has covered in all of its games and are 3-1 ATS heading into their Week 5 matchup against Seattle. The Seahawks are 2-2 ATS, but have yet to cover on home field this season.

The total for this game opened high at 49.5, however, both teams are lighting it up offensively through four weeks of action with the Rams averaging a sixth-best 29.3 PPG and the Seahawks not far off in 9th overall at 25.8.

Patriots Head Into Week 5 as 14.5-Point Favorites

The biggest spread of the week comes as no real shock — the Patriots are 14.5-point favorites over the winless Washington Redskins.

Tom Brady and the Pats are still unbeaten at 4-0, coming off a victory over the Buffalo Bills, but for the second straight week, the Patriots have not covered the spread. New England holds a 2-2 record ATS in 2019, while the Redskins are 1-3 in that category.

With another big spread against the ‘Skins, can New England improve to 5-0 and cover at the same time?

The Redskins are allowing just under 400 yards per game (399.3) which is the seventh most in the NFL going into Week 5. The Pats have been dominant on offense, scoring on average of 30.5 points per game.

The Redskins? Not so much. Washington is scoring 16.5 PPG this season, which is tied for the fourth fewest along with the Chicago Bears.

Books have set the total at 45 for the game between the Pats and Redskins. New England also opened as heavy -850 favorites on the moneyline.

Total Opens High For Chiefs, Colts Game

The Kansas City Chiefs are one of just three remaining undefeated teams in the NFL and they can thank a strong offense for that. Patrick Mahomes is having another MVP-worthy season and has helped the Chiefs score a league-leading 135 points through four weeks of play.

With a matchup against the Indianapolis Colts, books have set an opening total of 57 — the highest among any Week 5 game.

Mahomes and the Chiefs have scored 33 or more points in three of the team’s opening four games of the year.

The real issue concerning the Chiefs has been the team’s defense, which is allowing the fourth most yards per game (408.5) this season. K.C.’s four wins this season have come in offensive shootouts as the defense has failed to keep points off the board.

The Colts are pretty good offensively, too. Indy has scored 94 points this season and are averaging a respectable 23.5 points per game with Jacoby Brissett as the No. 1 quarterback.

The Best of The Rest

The Week 5 schedule features other intriguing matchups and odds to keep a close watch on.

The Monday nighter between the Cleveland Browns and San Francisco 49ers has an opening total of 47.5.

San Francisco is still undefeated at 3-0 but two of those wins were under the total points despite ranking in the NFL’s top 10 in points scored heading into Week 5.

Cleveland is coming off a huge 40-25 win over the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday to improve to 2-2 this season.

The other game to watch is between the Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers. Sportsbooks have set an opening 3.5-point spread in favor of the Cowboys.
