Cardinals Get Tripped Up In New England

The Cardinals had a good start in New England as they led 10-0 after the first quarter but they weren’t able to sustain that performance the rest of the game. They ended up losing 20-17 as Nick Folk kicked a game-winning field goal for the Patriots as time expired, which now means the Cards have lost three of their last four.

At the end of the day, it was a bit of an embarrassing loss for the Cardinals. As mentioned, they blew the early lead, they missed a late field goal and they ended up losing to a team that only had 179 yards of offense. Arizona won time of possession by more than eight minutes, won the turnover battle and had seven more first downs, yet somehow lost.

Rams Fall At Home To 49ers

The Los Angeles Rams were expected to pick up a win in Week 12. Coming off back-to-back wins over the Seattle Seahawks and Tampa Bay Buccaneers, surely they would beat the injury-depleted San Francisco 49ers, right? However, for a third time this season, a Rams’ two-game winning streak was followed by a loss when the Rams fell 23-20 to the 49ers.

The passing game was the biggest issue on Sunday as Rams’ quarterback Jared Goff finished the day just 19-of-31 for 198 yards, no touchdowns and two interceptions. One of those interceptions was a pick-six, which gave a big boost to a 49ers offense that was playing without Jimmy Garoppolo and George Kittle.

In total, the Rams had four turnovers on the day and they simply weren’t good enough to overcome that. They’ve been vulnerable to sloppy efforts like this as they had four turnovers in their loss to the Miami Dolphins, two turnovers in their loss to the Buffalo Bills and one in their previous loss to the 49ers. In total, they now have 11 turnovers in their four losses and just eight turnovers in their seven wins.

Which Way Will The Line Move?

The Rams have opened as a 1.5-point road favorite in this spot and it wouldn’t be surprising if that line climbed. The general thinking is that the Rams are the better team here but they simply struggle with the 49ers, who seem to have their number.  Meanwhile, the Cards have lost three of four and their offense has gone missing, scoring a total of 38 points in their last two games.

Look for the Rams to get bet up a little bet and this line to close in the range of -2.5 or -3.
