Panthers vs Buccaneers SGP Leg #1 – Bucky Irving Will Get Us a 50-Burger

What we need to start this thing off with is a guy we can trust. That guy is Bucky Irving. If you’ve ever seen this guy run the football, it looks like he was shot out of a cannon. Or plugged in to an electric socket. I’m not even sure.

The one thing I am sure of is the fact that he is the best running back we’ve seen in Tampa in many years.

The haters are going to say this guy was terrible last week, and that’s fine. He was. We all saw him. He legit only gained 19 yards on the ground against the Miami Dolphins. It is damn near impossible to play an entire NFL game against the Dolphins and not get 20+ rushing yards. Somehow, Bucky accomplished that last week.

My guess is, he just had a bad day. It wasn’t his fault. Prior to that game, our guy Bucky had gone for 50+ rushing yards in seven straight games. One of those games was against this same Carolina Panthers 24th-ranked run defense. If the Buccaneers want to win this game, they have to get Bucky going. He’s getting 50+ rushing yards. Feels easy.

The weekends are for overs. Everyone knows that. It would take an extremely insane person to tune in to a Saturday NFL game and root for no points. It’s simply not done. Just to show we’re not crazy people, I’m thinking we water down the over a little bit and throw it in. For the vibes, if anything.

One thing we all should know going in is that the haters won’t like this move because the Carolina offense is pathetic.

Here’s the thing about pathetic offenses: they just need to right defense. Nothing helps a pathetic offense like facing a pathetic defense. Ask anybody. They’ll tell you. Lucky for the Panthers, they’re facing one of the worst defenses in the NFL in the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It doesn’t get a lot worse.

Yards per play is a great indicator of how good/bad a defense is. That makes sense. On the season, the Buccaneers are 26th in the NFL in that metric. They’re giving up 5.7 yards per play. The Panthers should be able to go up and down the field on them. All we need is one team to drive the scoring, and we’re good. These teams just combined for 43 points a couple of weeks ago. They can get us at least 37 this time around. Feels easy.
