  • The Titans, though, will be without QB1 Ryan Tannehill (ankle) for a second straight game
  • All of the latest Tennessee vs Pittsburgh NFL injury news is analyzed and assessed in the story below

The big news from the Tennessee Titans vs Pittsburgh Steelers injury reports and inactives is that Steelers QB1 Kenny Pickett will be starting the game under center.

Even though he was forced out of last Sunday’s 24-10 loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars with a rib injury, Pickett guaranteed earlier this week that he would be playing.

The news is not as good for Titans QB Ryan Tannehill. He’s out for the second straight week with an ankle injury. That means rookie Will Levis is making his second NFL start.

Steelers All-Pro FS Minkah Fitzpatrick (hamstring) and Titans RT Chris Hubbard (concussion) are other starters who are out for this game.

Pittsburgh is the 2.5-point home chalk over Tennessee in the Titans vs Steelers odds. Pittsburgh is 5-1 SU in the past six home games against Tennessee.

So far in the Titans vs Steelers public betting splits, Tennessee is getting 59% of ATS handle, while Pittsburgh is pulling 82% of moneyline bets.

Hopkins Late Addition to Titans Injury List

Levis and Pro Bowl WR DeAndre Hopkins connected for 128 yards and three TDs in last week’s win over Atlanta. There was concern in mid-week when Hopkins (toe) was given an injury designation.

However, even though he’s listed as questionable, Hopkins is expected to play.

That’s not the case for starting RT Hubbard. His concussion will keep him out of action for this TNF game.

Tennessee Titans Injury Report

Player-Position Injury Game Status
Ryan Tannehill-QB Ankle Out
DeAndre Hopkins-WR Toe Questionable
Chris Hubbard-T Concussion Out
Roger McCreary-CB Hamstring Out
Caleb Farley-CB Back Out
Mike Brown-S Knee Out (IR)
Taylor Stallworth-DE Undisclosed Out (IR)
Shakel Brown-DE Ankle Out (IR)
Julius Chestnut-RB Hamstring Out (IR)
Hassan Haskins-RB Undisclosed Out (IR)
Kearis Jackson-WR Ankle Out (IR)

Backup CB Roger McCreary is also out with a hamstring injury. The Titans have designated safety Mike Brown (ankle) for return from IR for this game.

Fitzpatrick Key Loss for Steelers

The Steelers aren’t showing much in the way of new injuries for this game, but the one player who’s out is a major hit for the team to take. Fitzpatrick, who left last week’s game against the Jaguars with his hamstring issue, is leading the Pittsburgh defense with 54 tackles.

Pickett left last week’s game in the second quarter, but has since been cleared of any injury designation. It’s the second time this season he’s been forced to give way to backup Mitch Trubisky due to injury. In Week 4 against Houston, Pickett departed the game with a knee injury.

Pittsburgh Steelers Injury Report

Player-Position Injury Game Status
Minkah Fitzpatrick-S Hamstring Out
Levi Wallace-CB Foot Questionable
Anthony McFarland Jr-RB Knee Out (IR)
Pat Freiemuth-TE Hamstring Out (IR)
Renell Wren-NT Undisclosed Out (IR)
Chapelle Russell-LB Undisclosed Out (IR)
Cory Trice Jr-CB Knee Out (IR)

On a positive note, both DT Cam Heyward (groin) and SS Damontae Kazee (hand) were full participants in practice. However, CB Levi Wallace (foot) was limited in practice.

How Could Injuries Affect Titans vs Steelers Betting Lines?

Fitzpatrick is arguably the best run defender on the Steelers defense. That’s a key element to be missing when facing the power running game of Titans back Derrick Henry. Might an over on Henry’s rushing yards be worthy of a play in the Titans vs Steelers player props?

Pittsburgh is also expecting to activate RB Anthony McFarland JR (knee) from IR in time to suit up for this game. He was averaging 30.3 yards per kick return this season prior to his injury.

Minus Fitzpatrick, Elijah Riley figures to start at free safety. He started seven games for the New York Jets in 2021, the last time he was part of the first 11 of an NFL defense.

In Hubbard’s place, Nicholas Petit-Free will start at RT. The second-year player from Ohio State started 16 games last season and has handled one previous starting assignment this season.
