  • The Houston Texans have allowed the most receptions to running backs this season.
  • Patrick Mahomes threw for 321 passing yards last week, which was his second-lowest mark of the season.
  • 2019 Props Record: 7-2 (+685)

The Houston Texans and Kansas City Chiefs will clash in one of the more important AFC contests this week. The Texans vs Chiefs odds show that Kansas City is expected to get the win here but in this article, we’re looking at some props. Here are the best three to bet on for this contest:

Prop #1: Patrick Mahomes Passing Yards Odds

Patrick Mahomes To Have At Least 326 Passing Yards Odds
Yes -116

*Odds taken 10/12/19

Mahomes had a bit of a down Week 5 as the Chiefs lost at home to the Indianapolis Colts. He still managed to throw for 321 yards, which was his second-lowest mark of the season. Remember, the Colts controlled the clock and minimized the Chiefs possessions, so that was a big factor.

In this spot, I’m expecting Mahomes to get back on track and to get over 326. The Texans gave up 330 passing yards to Matt Ryan last week, 232 to Kyle Allen in Week 4 and 318 to Philip Rivers and the Los Angeles Chargers in Week 3. Mahomes should get over that mark.

Prop #2: Damien Williams Receiving Yards Odds

Damien Williams To Have At Least 34 Receiving Yards Odds
Yes -116

*Odds taken 10/12/19

A lot of fantasy football players are disappointed with what Damien Williams has produced this season. On the year, he has just 57 rushing yards and 102 receiving yards. However, remember that he did miss a couple of games and just returned last week.

While I’m not interested in betting any Williams rushing props, I do like him to hit at least 34 receiving yards on the day. He had just 15 yards last week but was over 39 in his other two games. The Texans are 29th in the NFL in terms of receiving yards allowed to running backs and dead-last for receptions. I think he gets over.

Prop #3: Travis Kelce Receiving Yards Odds

Travis Kelce To Have At Least 85 Receiving Yards Odds
Yes -113

*Odds taken 10/12/19

The Texans have done a great job against tight ends this season. In terms of fantasy football, they’ve allowed the second-fewest points to opposing tight ends, which gives you a clear idea of how strong they’ve been in that realm.

However, when you take a closer look at who they’ve played, none of those teams have strong tight ends. The New Orleans Saints, Jacksonville Jaguars, Los Angeles Chargers, Carolina Panthers and Atlanta Falcons don’t exactly have difference-makers at the position.

This week, the Texans have to go up against Kelce and I think the over-under for his yards is low because of where the Texans rank in these categories. Kelce is coming off a bad game where he dropped several passes and reeled in just four of his 10 targets. Even so, he picked up 70 yards on the day, which was a season-low.

Every single other week he’s been at 85 yards or over, so I’m going to bank on him getting over that mark in this spot.
