  • New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady took to Twitter to challenge Baltimore Ravens QB Lamar Jackson to a 40-yard dash
  • The only catch is that Brady insists that Jackson must wear roller blades
  • Even on blades, the Ravens QB is the -300 favorite in a prop bet on the proposed race

Lamar Jackson got the better of Tom Brady’s team on the football field this season, and the odds on the race between the two believe so too.

Friday, New England Patriots quarterback Brady took to Twitter to challenge Baltimore Ravens QB Jackson to a 40-yard dash. But there’s a catch.

The Patriots want to secretly film it? No, that’s not it.

Brady insists that Jackson must run the race in rollerblades, while he runs in cleats.

The prop wager on the Brady-Jackson 40 and lists Lamar as the -300 chalk.

Odds on Tom Brady vs Lamar Jackson 40 Yard Dash

Outcome Odds
Lamar Jackson on rollerblades -300
Tom Brady on foot +200

Odds taken on Dec. 13th.

In Thursday’s 42-21 win over the New York Jets, Jackson shattered Michael Vick’s NFL single-season rushing record  for a QB of 1,039 yards.

Brady Issues Challenge

During Thursday’s game, Brady posted his 40-yard dash challenge to Jackson on his Twitter feed.

Brady is 42. Jackson is 22. The Baltimore QB has rushed for 1,103 yards this season, good for fifth in the NFL. The New England QB has run for 1,035 yards over the course of his 20-season NFL career.

Brady’s gained 32 yards this season.

Jackson responded to Brady’s offer following Thursday’s game.

“He can probably win that race,” Jackson said. “Rollerblades on grass?”

Brady ran a 5.28 at the 2000 NFL Combine.

His career best is 5.17 seconds.

Jackson ran a 4.34 40 during his NFL Draft year.

Would Jackson Agree to This Race?

Perhaps this whole scheme is merely another example of Brady’s genius. He can’t beat the Ravens on the field but what if Baltimore’s MVP favorite broke his ankle running in rollerblades? Who’s the Super Bowl chalk now?

Smart guy, that GOAT.

If you’re the Ravens, are you letting your franchise player get anywhere near a pair of rollerblades?

In season, offseason – doesn’t matter. This race isn’t happening.

But if it did, take Brady in an upset.

Pick: Tom Brady (+200).
