Trey Hendrickson Next Team Odds – Two Teams Have Over 30% Chance According to Prediction Markets

The biggest fish remaining in the NFL free agency pond is edge rusher Trey Hendrickson. Unfortunately for the former All-Pro, suitors aren’t lining up to pay his asking price.

Hendrickson is reportedly seeking a contract similar to the deals Danielle Hunter and Jaelan Phillips just got, which is north of $30 million per season. That’s upwards of $10 million too high in some teams eyes according to reports, and until he brings the price down he’ll remain unsigned.

That hasn’t stopped Prediction Markets from offering lines on where Hendrickson might end up, with Tampa Bay and Dallas given the highest chance of landing him according to Kalshi.

The Bucs and Cowboys currently boast a 30% chance of signing Hendrickson which equals +233 odds in traditional sports betting terms. I think there’s some merit to betting Tampa, but another NFC team might be more enticing to Hendrickson if he’s serious about winning.

Speaking of Super Bowl odds contenders, teams like Buffalo and Philadelphia have reportedly shown interest, but their current cap situation has effectively taken them out of the running. As for Dallas, I would be fading the Cowboys based on their recent activity.

According to NFL insiders, Dallas checked in on Hendrickson but were turned off by the price. Instead of pursuing him, they traded for Green Bay’s Rashan Gary to shore up their pass rush, and re-signed their 2022 second round pick Sam Williams.

The Cowboys freed up a ton of money by restructuring their offensive stars, but any remaining cap money left over after the Gary trade will likely be used towards locking up George Pickens to a long term deal.

The Trey Hendrickson Contenders

I get why the market is favoring Tampa Bay. The Bucs pass rush was anemic a season ago, ranking bottom-10 in both pressure rate and QB knockdown percentage. A lack of pressure led to their defense finishing 20th in EPA/pass allowed, and to them surrendering the sixth most yards to opposing QB.

A stud pass rusher can cover up a lot of secondary warts and Tampa Bay does have money to spend. The Bucs lost out on Mike Evans to San Francisco, which might entice them to overpay Hendrickson to bring in another star.

Hendrickson is also from Florida, so while a return to his home state is possible, I don’t think it’s probable. At 31 years old, winning is a huge incentive for Hendrickson to sign with a team. Yes, Tampa Bay plays in the weak NFC South where a playoff berth is always in play, but the ceiling of this group just isn’t very high.

Which brings me to the 49ers. They have a ton of cap space to spend and are desperate need to improve their pass rush and pass defense. Judging by the Evans signing, the regime is going all-in on this edition of the Niners, and what could be scarier for opposing QB’s than a pass rush featuring Hendrickson and Nick Bosa.

Speaking of the need, it’s so glaring in San Fran that their 20% chance of landing Hendrickson (+400 odds) is a steal. The 49ers were dead last in sacks in 2025, and 30th in pressure rate. They were also bottom-eight in EPA per drop back allowed and total passing yards surrendered.

Hendrickson can help fix a lot of those issues, and would keep San Fran in the NFC’s upper echelon of teams along with the Rams and Seahawks. He’s a four-time Pro Bowler, and led the league with 17.5 sacks in 2024.
