What was supposed to be an intriguing duel between the top quarterback of this generation, Patrick Mahomes, and the reigning Offensive Rookie of the Year, Jayden Daniels, has been derailed by injury. The Washington Commanders (3-4, 3-4 ATS, 3-4 O/U) will be forced to start Marcus Mariota in place of Daniels as they visit Mahomes and the red-hot Kansas City Chiefs (4-3, 4-3 ATS, 3-4 O/U) on MNF in Week 8 from GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium (7:15 pm CT/8:15 pm ET).

The game will be broadcast nationally on ABC and ESPN. Below, I have set out a massive list of Commanders vs Chiefs player props, the MNF weather conditions, and my three favorite Commanders vs Chiefs prop picks for tonight’s game.

T. McLaurin (WAS)3.5 (-147 / +115)46.5 (-115 / -109)20.5 (-110 / -120)
T. Kelce (KC)3.5 (-136 / +106)41.5 (-110 / -115)18.5 (-115 / -115)

Patrick Mahomes is averaging 257.1 passing yards per game, making his line of 275.5 a bit ambitious, but he faces a secondary that could easily be torched. The value might be in his completions, as the Chiefs may lean on a shorter passing game if their offensive line struggles.

Marcus Mariota’s passing yardage line is set low at 199.5, reflecting expectations of a run-heavy, conservative game plan with the fleet-footed backup at the helm. The -150 odds on him to throw an interception are notable against an opportunistic Chiefs defense.

Commanders vs Chiefs Weather Forecast

The weather forecast tonight is fairly cold and a little windy, but could certainly be worse.

The current forecast calls for temperatures around 51°F with a light mist and winds of 11 mph. The wind and wetness could play a minor role in the passing and kicking games, but Mahomes and company have certainly seen worse conditions in KC in late October.

The player props don’t appear to have any inclement weather baked into the lines.

Commanders vs Chiefs Prop Pick #1: T. Kelce Over 40.5 Receiving Yards

The 36-year-old Travis Kelce is still the top pass-catcher in the Kansas City offense. He leads the team with 375 receiving yards this season through seven games, an average of 53.6 YPG.

Kelce and speedy wideout Rashee Rice are set to exploit a Washington secondary that has been plagued by coverage busts and penalties all season. The Commanders sit a dismal 31st in coverage rating at PFF and have allowed an average of 52.4 YPG to tight ends this season. Even if TE2 Noah Gray (75 receiving yards on 16 targets this year) picks up about a quarter of KC’s yardage from tight ends, Kelce should still get over this modest total in Monday’s NFL receiving yards props.

WSH vs KC Player Prop Pick #2: K. Hunt Over 18.5 Rush Yards

This prop stands out as one of the most statistically-backed plays on the board. While Isiah Pacheco is the lead back, Kareem Hunt has carved out a distinct role, particularly when Kansas City is comfortably ahead.

Hunt has gone over his rushing yards prop in 11 of his last 12 games when the Chiefs are favored by a touchdown or more, a remarkable 91.7% hit rate.

Kansas City has also won 17 of its last 20 games as a favorite. A likely second-half lead will shift the offensive focus to a clock-control ground game, giving Hunt ample opportunity to eclipse this modest NFL rushing yards prop against a tired defense.

Commanders vs Chiefs Prop Pick #3: T. McLaurin Over 3.5 Receptions

A negative game script for Washington should translate into a positive night for their top wideout. With the Commanders likely facing a significant deficit on the road, they will be forced to air it out, funneling targets to their most reliable pass-catcher.

Terry McLaurin has consistently proven to be a high-volume target when playing from behind. In his last seven games as an underdog, McLaurin has surpassed 3.5 receptions six times (85.7%).
