The 2026 NHL trade deadline came and went today, and the top of the Stanley Cup odds barely budged. That’s what happens when the best team in hockey gets better and everyone else mostly tinkers around the edges.

Colorado reunited with Nazem Kadri in a last-second stunner, the Tampa Bay Lightning added Corey Perry (and his infamous Cup Final curse), and the Maple Leafs sold off pieces in what’s become a full-blown teardown season in Toronto.

Here are the updated Stanley Cup odds at FanDuel Sportsbook, along with a look at the biggest risers and fallers from the deadline.

Stanley Cup Odds Winners From the 2026 NHL Trade Deadline

Colorado Avalanche (+280 to +260)

The Avalanche didn’t need much help, but they got it anyway. Colorado already sat at 91 points in 60 games with a league-best +97 goal differential, and then they pulled off the biggest trade of the deadline right at the buzzer: Nazem Kadri is back in Denver.

The 35-year-old center had 12 goals and 29 assists in 61 games for a bad Calgary team. He won’t need to carry the load in Colorado. Calgary retained 20% of his $7 million cap hit, and the Avs sent back Victor Olofsson, prospect Max Curran, a conditional 2028 first-round pick and a conditional 2027 second-round pick.

Colorado’s center depth is now borderline unfair: Nathan MacKinnon, Brock Nelson, Kadri and Nicolas Roy, who was acquired from Toronto earlier in the week for a conditional first-round pick.

The Avs also grabbed defenseman Nick Blankenburg from Nashville for a fifth-rounder. Their power play has been dead last in the NHL at 15.5%, and Kadri’s playmaking could be the fix.

The current Stanley Cup odds favorite at +260 implies roughly a 28% chance to win it all. No other team is close.

Carolina Hurricanes (+700 to +600)

Carolina’s odds shortened despite a quiet deadline. The Canes only added enforcer Nic Deslauriers from the Flyers for a conditional seventh-round pick, but their 39-16-6 record and 84 points are doing the talking. They went 8-1-1 in their last 10 heading into the deadline.

The concern is that Carolina is banking entirely on their existing roster while Colorado and Tampa added pieces. At some point, you have to show up with more than what you’ve already got.

Buffalo Sabres (+3000 to +2200)

The biggest odds mover among contenders, and not because of what they did at the deadline. Buffalo’s Cup odds shortened by 800 points thanks to their play on the ice. They went 26-5-2 from December 9 through early March and are sitting in a playoff spot for the first time in over a decade.

The deadline itself was a different story. Their deal for Colton Parayko from St. Louis fell through when Parayko invoked his no-trade clause, so Buffalo pivoted to Luke Schenn and Logan Stanley from Winnipeg in exchange for prospect Isak Rosen, Jacob Bryson and draft picks.

They also added Sam Carrick from the Rangers. None of those moves will move the needle come playoff time, but oddsmakers like what they see from Buffalo on the ice.

Stanley Cup Odds Losers From the 2026 NHL Trade Deadline

Toronto Maple Leafs (+22500 to +50000)

Toronto’s season has gone completely off the rails. Sitting at just 65 points with 24 losses, the Leafs became full-blown sellers this deadline.

They dealt Nicolas Roy to Colorado for a conditional first-round pick, sent Scott Laughton to the Kings for a conditional third, and shipped Bobby McMann to Seattle for a fourth-rounder and a conditional second.

The Leafs went from fringe longshot at +22500 to the league’s longest odds at +50000. It’s a full teardown in a season that started with legit playoff expectations.

Washington Capitals (+4000 to +8000)

Washington doubled in price after selling at the deadline. The Caps moved franchise defenseman John Carlson to Anaheim for a conditional first-round pick and a 2027 third. They also sent Nic Dowd to Vegas and David Kampf to the Canucks, all for future assets.

With 69 points, they’re still in the Metropolitan Division mix, but the front office clearly decided to cash in rather than chase.

Florida Panthers (+3300 to +12500)

The Panthers saw the most dramatic odds shift among teams that didn’t actively sell. Florida has just 63 points and a -11 goal differential, sitting 14 points out of a playoff spot. The books are essentially saying the Panthers’ window has closed for this season.

Going from +3300 to +12500 in a single week is a steep fall for a franchise that made the Cup Final two years in a row.

Los Angeles Kings (+4000 to +7500)

The Kings were busy, but not in ways that helped them right now. They shipped Corey Perry to Tampa Bay for a 2028 second-round pick and signed Mathieu Joseph for the remainder of the season. With just 64 points and a -21 goal differential, the Kings are treading water in the Pacific Division race.

2026 Stanley Cup Odds: Teams to Watch

Tampa Bay Lightning (+410): The Bolts sit atop the Atlantic Division with 80 points and a league-second +49 goal differential behind only Colorado. They added Corey Perry from the Kings, giving them another veteran with Cup Final experience.

Of course, Perry has been on five Cup-losing teams since 2020, so superstitious fans in Tampa might not love this one. But with Jake Guentzel, Brayden Point and Nikita Kucherov leading the charge, Tampa is the clear No. 2 in the odds for a reason.

Dallas Stars (+1800): Dallas rode a franchise-record 10-game win streak into the deadline and quietly added Michael Bunting from Nashville and Tyler Myers from Vancouver. With 85 points and a +56 goal differential, the Stars are one of the most complete teams in the West. Jake Oettinger getting hot in the playoffs could make them very dangerous.

Edmonton Oilers (+1100): The Oilers stayed at +1100 despite Connor McDavid and Leon Draisaitl being in the middle of their primes. Edmonton added Jason Dickinson and Colton Dach from the Blackhawks, but did nothing to address their goaltending problem.

Tristan Jarry has posted a 3.68 GAA and .871 save percentage since the trade for Stu Skinner. That’s a recipe for an early exit, especially with team fatigue concerns after back-to-back Finals.

Utah Mammoth (+3500): The Mammoth made one of the smartest moves of the deadline, landing defenseman MacKenzie Weegar from Calgary without giving up a first-round pick or a top prospect. They sent Olli Maatta, Jonathan Castagna and three 2026 second-round picks. With 70 points and a wild-card spot, Utah is a team nobody wants to face in the first round.

As for the sellers, the St. Louis Blues had the best deadline of any team not in the race. They moved captain Brayden Schenn to the Islanders and Justin Faulk to Detroit, raking in two first-round picks and additional draft capital in the process. That’s a rebuild done right.
