My Bruins vs Stars prediction has me riding with the hot hand in Boston against a Dallas team that has been stuck in quicksand. Boston has been scorching hot, recording wins in eight of nine, with six of those resulting in puck line victories.

Per the NHL odds, it’s extremely close in the betting odds between the Bruins vs Stars, with our SBD model giving big D the edge 3.56-3.35. However, I can’t get on board with that, seeing as how Dallas has been on a tailspin, dropping ten of their last twelve (2-6-4).

Given that Boston is playing far better hockey, it’s a no-brainer for me to pick them as the road underdog.

The confirmed goaltender matchup features Jeremy Swayman vs Jake Oettinger. The former has won five of six starts, with a solid 2.33 GAA and sparkling .921 save %. The latter has been struggling the last six weeks, posting a 3-6-2 run with a 3.09 GAA and .890 save percentage.

BOS vs DAL Season Stats/Ranks

The Stars actually have five more points than the Bruins on the campaign, but coming into this one, you’d swear BOS was way ahead of them based on recent form. Both teams are in the top-ten of scoring and the top five on the man advantage.

Dallas is among the favorites in the Stanley Cup Odds at +1600, while Boston isn’t getting much love from the oddsmakers at +25000.

For a prop bet, I won’t look at Dallas since they’ve scored exactly one goal in each of their last three affairs. Instead, I’ll go out on a considerable limb by selecting a player that’s thriving on the Bruins’ top line – Marat Khusnutdinov.

He’s tied for fourth in team scoring (11), and is coming off a snipe in back-to-back contests. Just three duels before that, he racked up a career-high four goals in a single game versus the Rangers.

His odds to tickle the twine are a very intriguing +500, which is longer than the top-13 choices on the betting board! If you want to parlay the Bruins to win on the moneyline, plus Khusnutdinov to score, that total pays out a cool +650.
