  • Game 5 of the Eastern Conference Finals between the Carolina Hurricanes and Florida Panthers is Wednesday night at the Lenovo Center.
  • The Panthers lead the series 3-1 and are looking to return to the Stanley Cup Finals for a third straight year.
  • Read on for Panthers vs Hurricanes odds, my Game 5 prediction, and how to watch all the Wednesday action.

Left for dead, the Carolina Hurricanes proved the critics wrong with a 3-0 win over the Panthers on the road in Game 4. Carolina still has plenty of work to do, but there’s hope with the series now 3-1.

The Panthers are 1.5-goal favorites on the puck line in Game 5. Carolina has failed to cover the puck line in its last five games after a road win.

Does Carolina have a shot to keep this going? Let’s look at the Game 5 Panthers vs Hurricanes odds, as I give you my Game 5 prediction, plus tell you how to watch.

The Panthers are again favored in this series, with the total locked in at 5.5. Games in this series have gone 2-2 over/under.

Florida is 47-28-3 as favorites this season, while Carolina is 4-5 as underdogs. The Panthers have gone 27-21-2 on the road this season.

I found the best moneyline bet on Carolina is +106 at FanDuel and -125 at BetMGM for Florida. I’m kind of surprised that the Hurricanes have that kind of action. Throw out Game 4, and they’ve been dominated this series.

The over 1.5 goals in the first period wager has hit each of the last three games between these two teams in Raleigh.

If you’re into live betting – and who isn’t? – get ready after that first goal. Carolina is 6-0 in the playoffs when scoring first.

My favorite stat about this series: Florida has had 18 players score in the playoffs. Carolina has had 15. Plenty of anytime goal value numbers out there in the NHL player props.

I’m going with the Hurricanes to keep the momentum going from Game 4 at home, where they are 5-2 in the playoffs. Florida has some problems. The Panthers were 0-4 on the power play in Game 4 and are now zero for their last eight with a man advantage.

I believe injuries are starting to catch up to Florida. Standout center Sam Reinhart missed Game 4 with a lower-body injury, and defenseman Niko Mikkola also sat out.

Both skated Wednesday morning and are expected to suit up in Game 5. But if you’re Florida, you may not need to rush back their minutes.

Entering this series, I liked Carolina. They had the hot goalie in Frederik Andersen and a tight defensive style that frustrates team. Then Carolina played undisciplined in the first three games and got walloped. Andersen got yanked for Game 3, but returned in Game 4 and made 20 saves. Carolina can ride him early and push a couple across.

Game 5 Panthers vs Hurricanes How To Watch

Turn on your favorite screen, big or small, and find Game 5 on TNT, SN, MAX and truTV. For our friends north of the border, its on TVA Sports and CBC.

And while the broadcast will turn on at 8 p.m. ET, that just means the start of pre-game ceremonies. The puck should drop closer to 8:10 p.m.
