The NHL is in full swing now after the Olympic break, and we’ve got a great tilt if you’re a hockey fan. The Vegas Golden Knights (28-16-14, 14-8-7 away) travel to take on the Washington Capitals (30-23-7, 18-10-3 home) at 7:00 PM ET. The Capitals have won two straight games at Capital One Arena.
The Golden Knights are in first place in the Pacific Division, with the Edmonton Oilers currently trailing by four points. The Capitals are fourth in the Metropolitan Division and have been battling for a Wild Card playoff spot all season.
Online sportsbooks have the Capitals as a slight home favorite per the latest NHL odds. It should be a tightly contested duel between two teams looking to build momentum heading to the stretch drive of the NHL season.

The Golden Knights are one of the more talented teams in the NHL, and their firepower will overpower the Capitals. They have won three straight games and have scored at least four goals in those matchups. Vegas has been crowned winners in three of its last four tilts against Washington.
The Capitals have an advantage in net, but the Golden Knights should be able to take advantage when they are on the power play. The Knights will have to use their depth if they want to get the victory, and will have all four of their lines firing in this contest. Washington is 1-4 in its last five games against the Pacific Division.
- Jack Eichel anytime goal (+195 at FanDuel)
Jack Eichel will play his first game since winning the gold medal at the Olympics and will look to make an immediate impact for his squad. He scored in two straight games before the Olympic break and had a total of four points in those matchups. He isn’t afraid to fire the puck on net as he has tallied at least four shots on net in as many contests.
The American centerman has recorded six goals in 24 career games against the Capitals while collecting 20 points. Eichel is on the first power-play unit but hasn’t scored with the man-advantage. There wouldn’t be a better time to snap that goalless streak than against Washington. He has lit the lamp 21 times this year and will be riding the momentum of a gold medal.

The Vegas Golden Knights have gotten inconsistent goaltending this year, while Logan Thompson has been awesome for the Capitals. He has won 19 games this season and has a .912% save percentage with 2 shutouts. Washington will have to avoid taking penalties against this dangerous Golden Knights squad. Vegas’ power play is ranked 5th in the league, loaded with talent that includes Jack Eichel, Mitch Marner and Mark Stone.
