- Edmonton has won five straight against Vegas and can set the record for the longest winning streak against the Golden Knights in franchise history
- The Golden Knights vs Oilers odds have Edmonton as a slight -110 home favorite despite playing without Leon Draisaitl
- See my Golden Knights vs Oilers picks, predictions, odds and props for Saturday night at Rogers Place
Edmonton (39-28-9, 87 points) and Anaheim are tied atop the Pacific Division, with Vegas (34-26-16, 84 points) three points back. All three teams have six games left, and a win tonight would give the Oilers a record-setting sixth straight victory over the Golden Knights.
Vegas has won its first two games under new coach John Tortorella, including a 6-3 win over Calgary on Thursday where Mitch Marner put up a hat trick and two assists. Edmonton is riding a five-game winning streak of its own, capped by a 3-1 win over Chicago.
McDavid is on a six-game point streak (six goals, five assists) and has 53 career points against Vegas, the most by any player in Golden Knights history. Puck drop is at 9:00 pm ET from Rogers Place.
My Golden Knights vs Oilers predictions and picks are below.
Golden Knights vs Oilers Predictions
- Winner bet: Oilers Moneyline (-110 at FanDuel)
Five straight wins in this series, and Edmonton has been the better team at home as a favorite, going 5-1 in their last six in that spot. Vegas is 2-10 against opponents with winning records over their last 12 and 2-6 on the road in their last eight.
The Golden Knights have spent 41.8% of their game time trailing this season, the third-highest rate by any playoff team since 1987-88. That’s not the profile of a team you want to back on the road in a division rivalry.
Even without Draisaitl, Edmonton has won six of eight. McDavid has shouldered the load, and the Oilers have eight players with 15+ goals for the first time since 1990-91. The depth is there to win without their second-best player.
Golden Knights vs Oilers Key Stats
Edmonton’s 30.1% power play is on pace to finish as the fifth-best single-season unit since 1977-78, though it’s been ice cold without Draisaitl — just 2 of 18 since March 16.
Vegas has been solid defensively since the Olympic break, allowing just 22.5 shots per game (second-fewest in the NHL), but that hasn’t translated to wins. The Golden Knights are 7-10-2 in that stretch.
Neither team’s save percentage cracks .880, and both goaltending situations are shaky. That could push the total either way, but the under has hit in Edmonton’s last four home games as a favorite and Vegas’ last five against teams with winning records.
Golden Knights vs Oilers Picks
I’ve got one from each side and a McDavid shot play for my Golden Knights vs Oilers picks.
- Matt Savoie Over 0.5 Points (-125 at DraftKings)
Savoie has recorded a point in four of his last five games and scored his 15th of the season Thursday against Chicago. He skates on McDavid’s right wing and gets first-unit power play time alongside Bouchard, Hyman and Nugent-Hopkins. With Draisaitl out, Savoie’s role has expanded significantly.
- Mark Stone Under 0.5 Assists (-130 at Bet365)
Stone picked up his 700th career point Thursday, but his playmaking has dried up on the road. He’s failed to record an assist in seven of his last eight away games and hasn’t registered a power-play point in seven straight against teams with winning records.
Edmonton’s penalty kill will be tested, but Stone hasn’t been the one creating on the man advantage in these spots.
- Connor McDavid Over 3.5 Shots on Goal (+120 at DraftKings)
McDavid has cleared 3.5 shots in four of his last six games, averaging 4.5 per game during that stretch. Plus money on the league’s most dangerous player to fire four shots in a rivalry game is an easy play.
With Draisaitl sidelined, McDavid is generating even more of Edmonton’s offense on his own. Evan Bouchard’s 67 assists on the blueline, tied with Paul Coffey for fourth in Oilers history, means there’s always someone finding McDavid in dangerous areas.
Golden Knights vs Oilers Odds
The interactive widget above will update automatically as the Golden Knights vs Oilers odds move throughout the day.
This is nearly a pick’em. Edmonton is -110 at FanDuel while Vegas is -105 at DraftKings. The puck line is priced heavily on both sides at -250 and -260, so neither team is expected to win by multiple goals. The total sits at 6.5 with the over at -110 and the under at even money.
Both teams are jockeying for position in the NHL playoff bracket, with the Stanley Cup odds reflecting Edmonton as one of the favorites to go deep. Check the latest lines at your preferred NHL betting app.
