The Kings wrap up a six-game road trip tonight in San Jose. LA came out firing with four straight wins, but lately they’ve cooled off, scoring just 2 goals in their last 2 games.
Puck drops at 10:00 PM ET from SAP Center, streaming on ESPN+ and Hulu. It’s another chapter in this in-state rivalry, with both teams trending in different directions.
Here’s my Kings vs Sharks prediction, plus an expert pick, starting lineups, and how to watch the game.
Kings vs Sharks Prediction
My Kings vs Sharks prediction backs San Jose getting plus money at home. The Sharks are 7-2-1 in their last 10 games while the Kings have managed just one goal in back-to-back losses. The line moved from Los Angeles -185 to -180, but that’s not enough movement for what we’re seeing on the ice.
San Jose’s defense has been rock solid lately. They’ve allowed two goals or fewer in seven of their last nine games. Recent home wins include victories over Florida, Winnipeg, Colorado and New Jersey. Those aren’t pushovers. They’re beating quality teams at SAP Center.
The Kings are controlling play, holding a 53.34% Corsi over the last ten games. The problem? They’re shooting just 7.55%, while San Jose is converting at 11.31%. LA’s been running into this issue all season: they can’t finish, and their 26th-ranked offense (2.75 goals per game) shows it.
Kings vs Sharks Stats
Macklin Celebrini is a total game-changer for San Jose. The 19-year-old already has 30 points in 20 games after putting up a hat trick in Tuesday’s OT win over Utah. He’s just the fourth teen in NHL history to hit that mark, joining Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, and Sidney Crosby. Not bad company to keep.
The goalie matchup leans San Jose’s way, too. Yaroslav Askarov’s been on fire lately with a .932 save percentage across his last six starts. LA is rolling with Anton Forsberg (.890 SV%), giving Darcy Kuemper a break before Friday’s game in Boston.
The Kings lead the season series 1-0 after winning 4-3 in Los Angeles on October 28. But the Sharks dominated that game, outshooting LA 40-14 (no, that’s not a typo). That game was also before Celebrini caught fire and the Sharks found their defensive structure. Tonight feels like revenge for San Jose.
Kings vs Sharks Pick
- Pick: San Jose Sharks ML (+150 at DraftKings)

Based on my prediction, San Jose moneyline at +150 is my NHL pick tonight. The Sharks are playing their best hockey of the year and getting solid home underdog odds against a Kings team that just can’t find the net right now. LA’s only managed to score once in each of their last two games. You’re not going to win many games like that.
Under 6 also has value at -110. The under has hit in six straight Sharks games and five straight at home. Los Angeles games have stayed under in four of their last five. Both teams play structured hockey, and the Kings’ offensive struggles make the under even stronger.
For NHL player props, Macklin Celebrini anytime goal scorer at +130 is worth a shot. The young superstar has seven goals in his last five games, including that Tuesday hat trick. Kevin Fiala leads the Kings with 15 points, but LA has been spreading their minutes pretty thin on this road trip.
