My Kraken vs Oilers prediction is Edmonton on the moneyline. The Oilers are 5-0 in their last five against Western Conference opponents and have won three straight at Rogers Place. Even without Leon Draisaitl, McDavid has been on another level — recording a goal and two assists in each of his last two games.

The matchup history is lopsided. Seattle is 4-13-1 all-time against Edmonton, the Kraken’s second-worst record against any opponent since joining the NHL. The Oilers hung nine on the Kraken on Dec. 4, the most goals the Kraken have ever allowed in a single game.

The special teams mismatch is the story of this game. Edmonton runs the league’s best power play at 30.20%, and they’ve been even better against Seattle — converting at a 77.8% clip (7-for-9) in three meetings this season. That’s one of the best single-season power play marks against any opponent in Oilers history.

Seattle’s penalty kill ranks 31st at 73.44%, which is a brutal combination against Edmonton’s man advantage. The Oilers also control the faceoff dot at 52.64% compared to Seattle’s 47.85%, so they’ll start with the puck more often than not.

Joey Daccord vs Connor Ingram Stats

Joey Daccord gets the start for Seattle and has been a workhorse with 43 appearances. His .899 save percentage is respectable, but he’s struggled against Edmonton specifically. McDavid has scored six career goals against Daccord and Zach Hyman has five.

Connor Ingram goes for the Oilers after a strong 4-2 win in Anaheim on Saturday, where he stopped 29 of 31 shots. He’s won four of his last five starts. Edmonton’s .876 team save percentage is 28th in the NHL, but the Oilers’ shot suppression (27.05 shots against per game, 10th) should keep Ingram’s workload manageable.

Ekholm has cleared 1.5 shots on goal in seven of his last eight home games as a favorite, averaging 2.25 per game in those spots. He patrols the blueline alongside Evan Bouchard on Edmonton’s top pair, so he’s getting heavy minutes against a Seattle team that allows 29.39 shots per game (23rd).

The Oilers average nearly 30 shots per game and outshoot opponents by 2.66 per contest. Ekholm should have no trouble getting his looks.

• Vince Dunn Over 1.5 Shots on Goal (-178 at Bet365)

Wrapping up my Kraken vs Oilers picks, I’m taking Dunn to clear 1.5 shots despite the heavy juice. The Seattle defenseman has gone over in 10 of his last 11 games after a loss, averaging 2.82 shots per game in those spots.

The Kraken lost 3-2 in a shootout to Buffalo on Saturday, so this is the exact bounce-back trigger that’s fueled Dunn’s shot volume all season. Edmonton’s center depth remains gutted. Leon Draisaitl (lower body) has been on LTIR since March 19, and Trent Frederic (undisclosed), Colton Dach (undisclosed) and Mattias Janmark (out for season) are also sidelined. That’s four centers missing from the lineup, though the Oilers have gone 5-2 since Draisaitl went down.

Seattle has its own questions to answer. Shane Wright (undisclosed) left Saturday’s game against Buffalo and is a game-time decision. Jaden Schwartz (face) has been day-to-day but is traveling with the team and could return to the lineup. Ryan Winterton (personal) remains out indefinitely.
