Panthers vs Kings Prediction, Starting Goalies & Odds (Thursday. Nov. 6)

The Florida Panthers (13 points, 2-11 ATS) are on the second game of a four-game road swing tonight when they face the LA Kings (16 points, 8-6 ATS).

Last season, the two teams each won on home ice. The Panthers won their second straight Stanley Cup while the Kings were eliminated by the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the playoffs for the fourth year in a row.

Things look different for both teams now, and I’ll explain it all with my Panthers vs Kings prediction, starting goalies, and odds for Thursday night.

Panthers vs Kings Prediction

• Kings -1.5 (+225 at DraftKings)
• Over 5.5 (-105 at DraftKings)

I like the Kings to pound Florida, who is just 1-5 on the road this season. I also love the over tonight, especially with the way Sergei Bobrovsky has been struggling lately.

Everyone is pointing to the Panthers’ injuries as the reason for their bad start, and everyone is right. Florida is without star Aleksander Barkov for the regular season after a knee injury he suffered on the first day of practice, and Matthew Tkachuk is still out.

The Panthers would be in bigger trouble if not for the play of 37-year-old Brad Marchand, who leads the team with seven goals. Playoff hero Sam Bennett has been M.I.A. so far this season with four points.

LA is middle of the pack in both goals scored and goals against. Swedish forward Adrian Kempe is off to the best start of his career with six goals and 16 points.

In Tuesday’s win over Winnipeg, Kings veteran defenseman Drew Doughty scored his 162nd goal of his career, making him the franchise’s all-time leading goal scorer among blueliners.

Panthers vs Kings Starting Goalies

Sergei Bobrovsky, Panthers

Big Game Bob is 6-4 this season with a 2.82 goals against average and a shocking save percentage of just .883. He’s coming off his worst performance of the season, allowing seven goals on 32 shots to Anaheim.

He’s also given up at least three goals in five of his last six starts. He’s had the day off, though, so will likely be back inside the pipes tonight.

Darcy Kuemper, Kings

The well-traveled Kuemper recorded his first shutout of the season Tuesday night in a 3-0 win over Winnipeg. This is his second year, in his second stint with the Kings. He won 31 games for them last year in 50 starts.

His numbers are better than Bobrovsky’s right now. He has a 2.57 goals against average and a save percentage right at .900.

Kuemper, 35, has bounced around with the Caps, Avalanche, Coyotes and Wild in his career.

No, it’s not a misprint—the Panthers are 2-11 against the spread this season, while the Kings are 8-6. Both teams are 6-7 over/under.
