The Stars visit Edmonton Tuesday night in the only NHL game on the schedule. Dallas will be without Mikko Rantanen due to suspension after he picked up his second boarding major in three games.

Puck drops at 9:00 PM ET from Rogers Place, with Sportsnet and TVA Sports carrying the broadcast in Canada. Victory+ has the Stars feed.

Here is a look at my Stars vs Oilers prediction, as well as player props to bet tonight.

My Stars vs Oilers prediction backs the over 6 goals. Edmonton allows 3.54 goals per game, ranking 28th in the NHL. Their .866 team save percentage sits dead last. Dallas scores 3.18 goals per game and should find success against this leaky defense.

The Oilers have allowed five or more goals in four of their last nine games. They gave up nine to Colorado, seven to Washington, and five to both Buffalo and Florida. Although he’s typically been solid against Dallas historically, Stuart Skinner has been shaky this season with a .886 save percentage.

Both teams run lethal power plays. Dallas operates at 29.3% (2nd in NHL) while Edmonton’s at 28.8% (3rd). The problem? Dallas owns the 25th-ranked penalty kill at 75.7%. Edmonton’s isn’t too much better at 82.3%. When you combine elite power plays with weak penalty kills, goals tend to come in bunches.

The head-to-head history back this Over pick too. The Over is 9-3 in the last 12 meetings in Edmonton and 6-2 in the last eight overall. Edmonton’s home games after road trips of seven-plus days have gone over in six straight. The Oilers just finished a seven-game road trip and score 3.75 goals per game at Rogers Place (4th in NHL).

What I love about betting Dallas games is that the Stars consistently score at least two goals a night. They’ve done it against Vegas, Tampa Bay, Minnesota, and Florida this season. Against Edmonton’s league-worst defense, three or four goals feels very likely.

Edmonton should at least match that output at home. Connor McDavid has 33 points (10 goals, 23 assists) and ranks third in NHL scoring. He’ll feast on Dallas’ 25th-ranked penalty kill.

Stars vs Oilers Player Props Picks

PlayerPropOdds
Jason RobertsonAnytime Goal
Wyatt JohnstonOver 0.5 Points
Leon DraisaitlAnytime Goal

Prop Pick: Jason Robertson Anytime Goal

Jason Robertson enters with a six-game goal streak and has 10 goals during that span. Without Rantanen, Robertson becomes Dallas’ primary weapon. He’s tied for 10th in NHL scoring with 28 points (13 goals, 15 assists). Look for Robertson to stay hot against the struggling Oilers’ defense.

Prop Pick: Wyatt Johnston Anytime Goal

Wyatt Johnston has 11 goals and 21 points this season. With Rantanen out, Johnston moves up in the lineup and gets more ice time. He’s already averaging 21:05 per game and should get on the scoresheet in what I expect to be a high-scoring affair.

Prop Pick: Leon Draisaitl Anytime Goal

Leon Draisaitl has 11 points during a six-game point streak. He’s tied for third in the NHL with 14 goals and has 28 points overall. Dallas allows 2.73 goals per game, and Draisaitl produces at home. The Oilers are 5-1-2 at Rogers Place.

Stars vs Oilers Odds

The Stars vs Oilers odds price Edmonton as -135 moneyline favorites at Bet365, giving the Oilers 57.4% implied probability to win at home. The Stars come back as +115 underdogs, giving them 46.5% implied chance to win on the road.

The over 6 at -130 on Caesars is the play. Most sportsbooks have now moved this line to 6.5, but you can still pay the juice at Caesars to get the better number and buy yourself more breathing room.

How to Watch Stars vs Oilers

Tuesday’s lone NHL game starts at 9:00 PM ET from Rogers Place in Edmonton. Sportsnet carries the Canadian broadcast while TVA Sports has French coverage. Victory+ streams the Stars feed for Dallas area viewers.

This will be Game Three of Dallas’ four-game road trip. They beat Vancouver 4-2 before losing in a shootout at Calgary. Edmonton returns home after a seven-game road trip where they went 3-3-1, finishing with a 6-3 win over Florida.

The Stars won 4-3 in a shootout when these teams met on November 4. Edmonton won four straight playoff meetings last spring, outscoring Dallas 18-10 in those games.
