- The road team has won every game in the St. Louis Blues-Winnipeg Jets series
- The Winnipeg Jets tied for the most losses in the regular season for teams entering the third period with a lead
- Four of the five Blues-Jets games have been decided by exactly one goal
The St. Louis Blues and Winnipeg Jets first-round series has been a back-and-forth affair. The Blues stole Game 5 and now lead the series 3-2.
Are they a good bet to finish this off or are the Jets worth a small play to win this in seven games?
Blues vs Jets Series Odds
Team | Odds |
---|---|
St. Louis Blues | -370 |
Winnipeg Jets | +285 |

Jets Blow Game 5
The Jets have been digging themselves out of a hole this entire series and now they’ll have to do it again. They lost their first two games at home and then had to go to St. Louis to win two in a row to tie things up.
Just as it looked like they’d take control of the series in Game 5, they blew it.

The Jets held a 2-0 lead in the third period and were 20 minutes away from taking a 3-2 series lead. Instead, they collapsed, allowing the Blues to tie before giving up the game-winning goal with just 15 seconds remaining.
That’s a heartbreaking result and bettors are left wondering if this will break their spirit.
Third Period Woes a Theme For Winnipeg
Anybody who has watched the Jets this season knows that third period leads have been an issue.
Most teams have sparkling records when holding a lead in the third but Winnipeg struggles in this realm. They’ve now lost six home games and nine games overall when taking a lead into the third period. That’s tied for the most in the NHL (with the Florida Panthers).

It’s happened two more times in this series as the Jets blew a third period lead in Game 5 and Game 1. They’ve played well, for the most part, but struggled when the game is on the line. That’s a bit of a concern.
It’s Been a Close Series
Although the Blues lead the series 3-2, it’s been far from a commanding effort by them. This series has been decided by the narrowest of margins as we’ve had one 6-3 result and four one-goal games.
Home-Ice Disadvantage
As we head into Game 6, it’s worth noting that home-ice advantage has been anything but this series. The road team has won every single time, which provides plenty of hope if you’re betting the Jets.

The Moneylines, Not The Prop
It makes far more sense to bet the individual moneylines than these types of props when a team needs to win out.
When the Columbus Blue Jackets swept the Tampa Bay Lightning, many people tweeted that the exact 4-0 series result paid around 40/1. However, individually parlaying or rolling over moneyline bets on Columbus would have netted you upwards of 50/1.

The same is true here. I actually like the Jets to come back and win this series but they are in the neighborhood of +120 or +140 for Saturday’s Game 6.
If they win that, they’ll be around -130 for Game 7, which is the price they closed at for Game 5. If you parlay those two, you’re looking at around +290 to +325. That’ll pay more than the +285 on this prop.
