Since its inception in 2012, the NXT has established itself as a valuable launching pad for WWE hopefuls. In this raw, high-octane environment, up-and-coming wrestlers are given the opportunity to prove themselves and showcase their talent to the world.

Though the NXT is loaded with wrestling talent, there is only so much screen time available in the WWE. With an impressive collection of wrestlers all vying for a chance at the big time, the competition is fierce!

Who will be the next NXT star to make the leap to the WWE? Here are our picks!

Odds to be the next NXT star to enter the WWE :

Sami Zayn (4/1) – The Canadian-born wrestler earned his stripes on the independent circuit, wrestling masked under the ring name El Generico. After winning a flurry of titles across the US and Japan, he was picked up by NXT. During his time in the promotion, Zayn worked his way up to become champion for a brief period of time (and was even given the opportunity to fight WWE legend John Cena). He lost his title to Kevin Owens and never got the chance to avenge that defeat. With Owens already on the main roster – and holding the Intercontinental Title – it makes sense from a rivalry standpoint to add Zayn and set-up the long-awaited rematch!

Finn Balor (7/1) – The current NXT champion is one of the up-and-comers to watch. His flair in the ring and unique appearance has made him a crowd favorite. Though his character and performance out of the ring are, at times, lackluster, he makes up for it with raw wrestling talent.

Baron Corbin (15/2) – Before he entered the world of professional wrestling, Baron Corbin (otherwise known as Tom Pestock) was an NFL offensive lineman, a boxing champion, and a grappling stud.

In the wrestling world, Corbin is famous for his long-running feuds and grudge matches. He has claimed a number of high profile victories and remains one of the main title contenders.

Bayley (12/1) – The NXT is well-known for developing female talent. tight now, the female wrestler to watch is Bayley. The young, charismatic wrestler is putting the spotlight on female wrestling, which is something the WWE covets. She is also a former member of the Four Horsewomen and the other three have already made the leap. It’s likely only a matter of time before she joins her erstwhile stablemates.

Hideo Itami (17/1) – The former kickboxer is known for his fast feet and acrobatic ability. However, his career so far has been plagued by injury and, as far as the NXT goes, he still has a lot to prove.
