Formula 1 finally stumbles out of summer break on Sunday, August 31, 2025, with the Dutch Grand Prix at Circuit Zandvoort. The lights go out at 9:00 a.m. ET on ESPN, and the forecast calls for cool, dry conditions…perfect racing weather, though maybe a little early to be choosing between coffee or leaning into the Heineken sponsorship and cracking something cold.
Here are the Dutch Grand Prix odds, along with my picks and predictions for Sunday’s race.

Dutch Grand Prix Preview
Zandvoort itself is a quirky little rollercoaster: 72 laps, 14 turns, 4.259 km per lap, with two DRS zones that rarely deliver the drama you’d hope for. Passing here is about as easy as finding a quiet street in Amsterdam on King’s Day, amiright?
Pirelli has brought a tire lineup that’s one step softer than last year across all three compounds, but don’t expect wild strategy swings. Last year’s optimal approach was still the boring one-stop. A few teams may try to force a two-stopper just to shake things up, but that’s essentially the F1 version of hitting “surprise me” on a lunch order. I’ve tried it in F1 2025 career mode…let’s just say nobody’s offering me a team principal gig.
Alright, enough scene-setting. Let’s get into the F1 picks for Round 15 of the 2025 season.
Dutch Grand Prix Picks & Predictions
1.34u – Fernando Alonso over Liam Lawson (-134, BetRivers)
We were already circling Alonso and Aston Martin coming into the week. The team had shown flashes before the summer break. Alonso finished in the points in five of the last six races, including a fifth in Hungary. With Adrian Newey reportedly wandering around the Aston factory like a wizard in search of a spellbook, it wasn’t crazy to think the green machines might roll out something fresh.
Practice backed that up. Alonso went P4, P2, and P10 across the three sessions…comfortably ahead of Lawson’s P11, P14, P11 mediocrity tour. Yes, qualifying is what really counts, and Lawson outdueled our Aston hero. But with Zandvoort’s track evolution and shifting winds, when you got your lap in, mattered almost as much as how you drove it.
The pit strategy edge should also tip Alonso’s way. Lance Stroll has already lawn-darted his car into the scenery twice this weekend (in typical Lance Stroll fashion), meaning Alonso will get the clear priority from Aston.
On the other side, Lawson’s teammate Isack Hadjar will be the one getting the best look at Racing Bulls. Add it all up, and our model has Alonso finishing more than a full position clear of Lawson. At a track where overtaking is painful but not impossible, that’s more than enough reason to pull the trigger.
1.0u – Esteban Ocon over Oliver Bearman (+105, Caesars)
Our model has Ocon finishing 0.8 spots ahead of young Ollie Bearman, which is enough of an edge to justify the plus money. Ocon starts one grid position ahead, which doesn’t sound like much, but at Zandvoort, it matters.
On comparable tracks, Ocon’s race pace trends stronger than Bearman’s. That’s not to say the rookie’s been bad; Bearman’s looked composed in tricky spots. But Ocon’s experience in managing tire wear and squeezing every drop out of long stints should play well here. At the end of the day, we’ll happily side with the guy who’s been around the block over the kid still asking where the paddock restrooms are.
0.5u – Lando Norris over Oscar Piastri (+165, Caesars)
This matchup is way tighter than the number suggests. Lando outpaced Piastri in every single session this weekend, only to absolutely gack it away in qualifying. Classic. These two McLaren teammates are basically playing their own private game of “catch me if you can,” and lately, Piastri’s had the edge.
But here’s the thing: Norris has already delivered a handful of tire conservation masterclasses this season. If anyone can stretch a stint and find a way past, it’s him. At this plus-money price, we’ll happily take the chance that Lando sorts it out over 72 laps and steals one back from his title-favorite teammate.
