Hamlin Has Healthy Results at Richmond

If you’re looking for a driver with a strong track record at Richmond Raceway this week, Denny Hamlin is one of the best options. He’s only won this race three times in his history here (since 2006) but he has a ton of Top 10’s. Taking a look at his recent starts, he has eight finishes in the top six spots in his last nine. Looking further out, 17 of his 27 starts here resulted in top 10 finishes.

Taking a look at his 2020 campaign, Hamlin has cooled off of late, so that is a bit of a concern. From Kansas to the first race at Dover (six starts), Hamlin had two wins, three runners-up and a sixth. Since then, he’s gone 19th, third and 13th. Even so, given how consistent he is at Richmond, consider him a good option for outrights or matchups.

Time to Get Back on Busch?

It’s been an uneven year for Kyle Busch, who is the defending NASCAR champ. Last year, Busch picked up five wins and 27 Top 10’s. This season has been a completely different story. Busch hasn’t picked up a win through 27 races and has just 14 Top 10’s so far. He has finished seventh, 33rd, 11th and third in his last four starts.

Richmond Raceway has been very kind to Busch of late as he has two wins in his last four starts at the track along with a second-place finish and an eighth. If you extend that out to his last nine visits to Richmond, he has been ninth or better eight of those times with two wins and three runners-up.

Maybe he finally breaks through this week and notches his first win of the season.

Keselowski for a Top 10

Brad Keselowski has just one win in his career at Richmond Raceway but he has a lot of really good results – especially recently. Over his last four outings at Richmond, Keselowski has finished no worse than ninth. He’s placed in the top 11 spots in nine straight starts there and 11 of his last 13.

Keselowski is currently fourth in the standings but it does feel like his results are lukewarm of late. After a little hot stretch where he won or placed second in three straight races at the end of July to early August, he has placed 11th, 10th, eighth and ninth in his last four outings. Consider him a good option for Top 10 props this week.
