RGIII is ready for football season, but he remains cautious of his knee injury and will wear the knee brace all season. The Skins open the season in a Monday night showdown against the Philadelphia Eagles.

“I don’t worry about my leg anymore; I just play football, and that’s a sign that you’re getting ready,” he said. “I don’t know if I’ll wear it forever. I know I’ll wear it for the rest of the season”.

The point spread has the Redskins as favorites by 4.5 points for week one. “You get used to it; your leg gets stronger, and you can carry that extra weight,” he added.

Griffin used to wear the knee brace when he was at Baylor, but the year that he won the Heisman trophy he didn’t use it.

“The next year came around, and I took it off, won a Heisman and did a whole lot of other things. It just depends on how the leg feels,” he said. “I don’t plan on wearing it past this season, but it all depends on what happens.”

RGIII won’t play during the preseason games, unless Mike Shanahan says so.

“I asked Robert to be as honest with me as possible,” Shanahan said. “I told him I will be as straightforward with him as I can as I hope he will be with me as possible.”

The Redskins are 14/1 to make a deep run in the playoffs and win the NFC Championship.  On the other side, they are 4/11 to miss the playoffs.
