Barcelona vs Real Madrid Preview

It’s been a return to the good old days for Xavi’s men this season who have had an outstanding domestic season so far, dropping points in only four of their 25 matches. Astonishingly, they have conceded just eight league goals to date.

While Barca has all but tied up the La Liga title, their form in Europe has been a disappointment – Manchester United knocked them out of the Europa League at the playoff stage – but to counter that they have already lifted the Spanish Super Cup and look well placed to lift another Copa del Rey.

Cope Del Rey Also in Barca’s Sights

In the first of their Copa del Rey semi-final with Real Madrid – the away leg – they emerged with a 1-0 win, and with the second leg scheduled to take place at the Camp Nou on April 5, they already hold the upper hand.

Despite being on the receiving end of a shock 1-0 defeat at the hands of Almeria in late February, Barca were quick to bounce back and come into this El Clasico off the back of two solid 1-0 wins – over Valencia and Athletic Bilbao.

Real Madrid on Course For Champions League Success

A 36th La Liga title looks like a long shot for Real Madrid but they are still in with a great chance of capturing European soccer’s biggest prize – the Champions League – after disposing of Liverpool 6-2 on aggregate. They now meet more EPL opposition in the form of Chelsea in the last eight.

While Los Blancos come into this off the back of a win – they beat Espanyol 3-1 in the Bernabeu last weekend – their form has been up and down since the turn of the year and prior to last weekend, they had drawn their last two La Liga games – against Atletico Madrid and Real Betis.

Good Away Form for Los Blancos

A big plus for Ancelotti going into this game is his team’s away form, which has been excellent – picking up 28 points from their 13 games, which is the same amount they have collected at the Bernabeu. They also have a good recent record against Barca to fall back on, winning five of their last six La Liga meetings.

In this equivalent fixture last season, Los Blancos won 2-1 – Alaba and Vazquez the scorers – and in the reverse fixture this season they won 3-1 with goals from Benzema, Valverde, and Rodrygo.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid Prediction

Real come into this game as the form team in recent La Liga El Clasicos, but Barca is one of the current form teams in the whole of Europe.  And with a very recent El Clasico win behind them in the Cope Del Rey and still in plus money, the value bet here is the home win.

Barcelona vs Real Madrid Picks: Barca to win (+115)
