While some of the major European leagues are only now taking steps towards a tentative return to action, the Belarus Premier League has never stopped and is now up to Matchday 11. BATE are leaders and are on a high after winning the cup last weekend, but have Energetyk hot on their heels, just a single point behind.

As always, we’ll list the odds for all of the scheduled fixtures, pick out three of the top games to preview, and offer some picks.

All odds taken May  26

Pick 1:  FC Minsk vs. Slutsksakhar Slutsk

Minsk picked up a point last time out against Gorodeya but this was back in Week 8, and they’ve since missed games in the last two weeks due to positive Covid-19 tests in their squad. They’ll be hoping to hit the ground running on their return to action, especially as their enforced break has seen them drop into the bottom three.

But FC needs to find some consistency – something that was missing over their first eight games – and their current 3-1-4 record needs to be improved upon if they are to fight for a place in the top six. For Andrey Razin’s players, this could be a pivotal afternoon.

Slutsk had a bright start to the season – one that saw them top the table briefly – but have collected just one point from their last three games and are on a worrying slide. It’s one that somehow has to be arrested if they are to maintain their surprise challenge for the European places. The last time these two met, FC  beat Slutsk 1-0. Now, with the visitors struggling for form and Minsk fresh and keen to kick on, a repeat is quite possible.

Pick: FC MInsk to win (+221)

Pick 2: Energetyk-BDU vs. Vitebsk

Energetyk are on a good run, winning four on the spin, and will fancy their chances of making it five on Sunday with Vitebsk the visitors. After a flying start to the season, the Students dipped badly for a few games but appear now to have found some consistency from their talented squad.

The visitors, meanwhile, are struggling after a very bright start to the campaign and have now gone five games without a win. For them, it’s very much about stopping a slide that, if it continues, could see them head towards the bottom three.

There’s no question where the value lies here – Energetyk are still in positive money, so don’t look anywhere else.

My picks: Energetyk to win (+114)

Pick 3: Ruh Brest vs. Dinamo Brest

Dinamo’s heart-breaking defeat to BATE at the weekend in the Belarus Cup final – they conceded the only goal of the game in the final minute of extra-time – was a bitter blow and so this weekend they’ll be looking to get the defense of their league title back on track. They’re currently eight points adrift of leaders BATE and so only a win against Ruh in the Brest Derby will do.

For Ruh, it’s been a good season and they find themselves in the unusual position of being above their city rivals in the league table, although a win for Dinamo would see them leapfrog the hosts. But Ruh’s hard-earned 1-1 draw last weekend, away to former leaders Slutsk, has set them up nicely for this one

While Dinamo will be wanting the win to re-assert their title credentials, Ruh has more than enough to make life tough. I see a goalscoring draw here and the +259 offers some value.

My pick: Ruh Brest and Dinamo Brest to draw (+259)
