BVB Enduring Slow Start
The BVB have struggled in the current campaign after finishing just two points shy of top spot on the Bundesliga table last season. The club has picked up just two wins over their past seven league matches to remain stalled in fifth place with 16 points going into Saturday morning’s Borussia Dortmund vs Wolfsburg matchup at Signal-Iduna-Park.

Dortmund are coming off a scoreless draw with Schalke 04 in their most recent league outing, extending their winless streak on the road to four matches. But the BVB have been steady in league contests on home turf, compiling a 3-1-0 win-draw-loss record in league play, and are now undefeated in 10 straight home dates across all competitions.
Wins Over Prussians Provide Big Lift
The club lost Mario Götze to injury in last weekend’s contest. The veteran midfielder suffered a hairline fracture in his wrist, but was available as a substitute in Wednesday’s impressive 2-1 comeback victory over Borussia Mönchengladbach in German Cup action. Wednesday’s win over the Prussians gives a big confidence boost to the BVB. The club also tallied a 1-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach in league action on October 19, and remain just three points back of the league leaders.
Gute Besserung weiterhin, Mario! 💐

The BVB will also be hoping for another big outing from attacker Julian Brandt. The 23-year-old potted both goals in Wednesday’s victory, which marked the first time the club has scored more than a single goal in their past four matches across all competitions and sits as an attractive +179 bet to find the back of the net at least once in Saturday’s contest.
Borussia Dortmund vs VfL Wolfsburg Stats
4-4-1 (5th place) | Table | 4-5-0 (4th place) |
20 | Goals Scored | 11 |
11 | Goals Allowed | 5 |
7-1-0 | Head-to-Head (Last eight matches) | 0-1-7 |
Wolfsburg Reeling Following Blowout Loss
Wolfsburg returns to league action as lengthy +480 road underdogs in Saturday’s contest after getting blown out 6-1 by RB Leipzig in a German Cup clash on Wednesday. With the loss, the Wolves are now winless in five matches across all competitions, when taking into account Cup, league, Europa League and friendly play.
However, the club has managed to avoid defeat so far in Bundesliga play, compiling a 4-5-0 record to maintain control of fourth place on the league table.
Scoring at a Premium When Wolves Play
A lack of steady scoring has emerged as an issue for Wolfsburg. The club has scored more than once in just one of their past nine contests overall but has kept clean sheets in two of four road dates in league action. A stout defense has contributed to Wolfsburg’s continued presence above the line. The Wolves top the league with just five total goals allowed this season and have not surrendered more than a single goal in consecutive games since last March.

Despite their stingy play, Wolfsburg remains a lengthy +450 bet to close out the season among the top four on the Bundesliga table, well back of Dortmund, who lead the way as -1500 chalk. The Wolves have also enjoyed little success in recent visits to Dortmund, going 0-1-3 in their past four league clashes, while getting outscored by a 10-1 margin during that stretch.
Picks: Draw (+330), Under 2.5, 3 (+105)
