Matchday 24 of the Bundesliga season takes place this weekend, starting with Hertha Berlin and Fortuna Dusseldorf on Friday. There’s a massive top of the table clash between RB Leipzig and Bayer Leverkusen on Sunday, which gives a great opportunity for Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Monchengladbach and Schalke to gain ground in the battle for a top four spot.

At the other end of the table, Fortuna Dusseldorf and Hertha Berlin meet on Friday before Mainz and Paderborn matchup at the Opel Arena on Saturday.

Odds taken Feb. 27

Bundesliga Pick 1: Borussia Dortmund vs Freiburg

Victories for Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach could see Dortmund drop out of the top four this weekend.

Dortmund had a difficult few days earlier this month, losing to Werder Bremen in the cup and suffering a 4-3 league defeat to Leverkusen. They have recovered well, however, thrashing Eintracht Frankfurt, beating PSG in the Champions League and winning away to Bremen in the league.

Freiburg have been poor recently, picking up just eight points of the last 27 available. Since winning their first three Bundesliga matches on the road this season, they have won just once away from home in their last nine.

There’s good reason for Dortmund to be heavily favored. They have won seven of their 11 home Bundesliga matches by at least three clear goals. Lucien Favre’s side are a good bet to make that eight out of 12.

Pick: Borussia Dortmund -2 (-114)

Bundesliga Pick 2: Hoffenheim vs Bayern Munich

Bayern Munich outclassed Chelsea in the Champions League in midweek, winning 3-0 and effectively securing their place in the quarterfinals. This weekend’s Bundesliga odds favor Bayern to win comfortably again at the weekend against a Hoffenheim team that has picked up one point from their last three matches.

Hoffenheim haven’t won since February 1st. A four-match winless streak started with a cup defeat to Bayern and has seen them drop to eighth. Defensively they have been vulnerable, keeping just two clean sheets in their last ten Bundesliga matches. Bayern are going to create plenty of chances on Saturday.

Hans-Dieter Flick may rotate slightly after being in action in midweek. He’s without Kingsley Coman and Robert Lewandowski – Coman limped off against Chelsea and Lewandowski is out for several weeks.

Serge Gnabry has five goals in his last three matches and is averaging over three shots per game in the Bundesliga this term. He’s going to take on an even greater role in Lewandowski’s absence. The former Arsenal man to star in a Bayern win is the best bet in this one.

Pick: Serge Gnabry to have 2+ shots on goal, to score and Bayern to win (+123)

Bundesliga Pick 3: Koln vs Schalke

Out of form Schalke travel south to face a Koln side eight points and seven places below them in the Bundesliga table. Schalke are winless in five league outings and were hammered 5-0 by RB Leipzig in their last match. Hopes of a top four finish have faded fast.

Six wins from their last eight have seen Koln pull away from danger, but they aren’t safe just yet. They are only six points ahead of Fortuna Dusseldorf, who occupy 16th. Their recent form has been led by a great goal scoring run – they have scored 21 of their 33 Bundesliga goals this season in their last eight matches.

Despite a substantial difference in the table, the expected numbers for these two teams are similar. Understat’s expected points put Koln a shade ahead of their Saturday opponents. Their current trajectories suggest they will meet in mid-table in the not-too-distant future.

Koln’s defense isn’t perfect, but this Schalke side have struggled to create chances this season. The form guide points to a home win, and that looks the best bet here.

Pick: Koln moneyline (+128)
