This is the final weekend of the Bundesliga season with Bundesliga Matchday 34. Nine matches kick-off at 9:30am EST on Saturday May 22nd. The top four places and the title race have already been settled, but it’s all to play for at the other end of the table.

Koln come into the weekend in 17th, but they could force their way out of the relegation places altogether with a win. Werder Bremen are currently in the playoff spot. Arminia Bielefeld travel to Stuttgart knowing their fate is in their hands.

Borussia Dortmund and Bayer Leverkusen matchup in what could have been a top six showdown. Dortmund has been on a great run, though, already booking their place in next season’s Champions League. Shock defeat to Schalke last time out ended Eintracht Frankfurt’s hopes of snatching a top four spot, and they are comfortable in fifth, with Leverkusen sitting five points behind.

Stuttgart vs Arminia Bielefeld Prediction

In-form Arminia Bielefeld head to Stuttgart in the favorable position of knowing they can avoid relegation this weekend on Bundesliga Matchday 34. A win will guarantee safety for Bielefeld, and sitting in 15th, they will be secure even with defeat if Werder Bremen and Koln both lose.

Bielefeld might be happy to face Stuttgart. They are no more than a mid-table team this year, but the hosts shouldn’t be ruled out here. After a losing streak, they have won their last two and could yet leap a couple places on the final day and grab seventh. Seventh place would earn a Europa League berth in 2021-22, which would be Stuttgart’s first European qualification since 2013-14.

Bielefeld have only lost once in seven matches. This turn around in form has put their fate in their hands this weekend, but there have been some disappointments of late. Failure to beat Hertha Berlin was a setback in the fight for safety. They are also the league’s lowest scorers, and have scored just six goals in their previous 13 matches.

Goals have been relatively common in Stuttgart’s matches, but that trend is unlikely to continue here. Bielefeld will be happy to keep it tight – under 2.5 looks good value.

Pick: Under 2.5 total goals (+160)

Borussia Dortmund vs Bayer Leverkusen Prediction

After underperforming their expected numbers for most the season, Dortmund’s good performances have started to end in positive results. It’s seven straight wins in all competitions, a streak which includes DFB-Pokal success. Top four has been locked up with time to spare as we enter Bundesliga Matchday 34. Edin Terzic has worked wonders to get the best out of this talented squad, and it’s no surprise to see Dortmund as heavy favorites for the visit of Bayer Leverkusen.

Leverkusen have had a difficult few months. They’ve recorded only six league wins in 2021, falling out of Champions League contention. This hasn’t been a happy fixture for them over the last few years either with five straight defeats away to Dortmund. Die Werkself have conceded 20 goals across those five losses.

Despite winning the two previous Bundesliga meetings (both at the BayArena), there’s no reason to back Leverkusen here. Both teams have scored in four of the last five matchups – BTTS and a home win is the pick.

Pick: Dortmund to win and BTTS (+138)

Werder Bremen vs Borussia Monchengladbach Prediction

It would be generous to say Werder Bremen are in a slump entering Bundesliga Matchday 34. They have lost nine of their last 11, and the only win on that run came against 2. Bundesliga side Jahn Regensburg. Fortunately for the hosts, Borussia Monchengladbach’s recent results aren’t much better. They have hit a rut since Marco Rose’s summer departure was announced, including three defeats in four league matches.

Gladbach will be hoping to leapfrog Union Berlin this weekend, who face Leipzig, and take the final Europa League spot. Their form is obviously cause for concern and will put some bettors off, even with seemingly long odds. The visitors have a brilliant record against Bremen over the last few seasons, however, winning on four of their last six trips to Weser-Stadion.

The defense of Gladbach has been their Achilles heel. They own the worst defensive record in the top 12. That’s not enough to make it worth backing Bremen here, though. The hosts have struggled to put the ball in the net of late, and it’s too great an ask to keep this Gladbach attack quiet.

Pick: Borussia Monchengladbach to win (+143)
